Wrath of the Jailer rewards is sketchy

So my wife ended up getting (2) 183 items off this, one last week and one this week. Basically free Mythic items. That is a huge ilvl boost if you don’t have a regular M group. Kill boss 2 min = 183 loot. Better than anything else you can get outside of M.

I have received nothing and while it not surprising I’m not clear on how this method of loot distribution plays into helping, in any way, balance this game. Having played this game on/off since Vanilla and being fully aware of how RNG works I’m expecting to get flamed by folks not understanding what I’m trying to say. RNG is fine if you can brute force the odds but you can’t here. At all. Take 20+ attempts to get a drop, if you take the time it will eventually drop, whatever it is. May take 100 attempts but its available. Not in this case. This is loot distribution based on multiple tiers of pure luck wrapped in a time gate, nothing more.

Am I incorrect in my understanding that you get only 1 chance, per week to loot this guy but if you kill him again to try you still lose eye of the jailer time. So on top of a wildly unbalanced loot distribution and weekly rng you now penalize a players time in the maw for killing something you can’t even get a drop off of. IE: you can’t help guildies unless you want to basically give them your time allowance in the maw.

I’m not sure if I would feel differently about it if I weren’t already effectively forced to grind half a dozen borrowed power systems weekly just to be completely average and baseline competitive.

This is not good game design. Fanboi’s…flame on.

This could have been a fine discussion but you had to ruin it at the end.

Nah he’s accurate.

Back in TBC I ran one dungeon with a guy who had run it 50 times looking for a particular sword drop. I ran it five times and found it.

The game has always been this way. When you get it, you feel amazing because you know its rare. When everyone gets it, its just an obligation.

There is no balanced loot dropping in this game. And its not a competitive game either, despite the opinions of people who are the bleeding edge.

Sometimes you get loot, and sometimes you don’t. Complaining about it won’t change anything.

You missed my point and made it at the same time.

I’m not talking about RNG, I’m fine running something 50+ times to get a drop.

The point is you CANT run it, you get 1 shot, per week. Yet despite that if you want to help someone you can’t do that either as it affects your eye of the jailer and the allowable time in the maw, with no chance for a drop. That is dumb and unhelpful to the community.

It’s no different than a world boss…

I only killed it so I’d get my legendary memory.

The jailer wrath gives rep and stigma even if your saved once dailly.More rep and stigma than the rares so well worth the time added to the eye even without the loot. You should be doing it dailly/

It’s fine. Got the dailies and then it done and still have the rest of the days to go. It’s a powerful item now but will be rather insignificant in the week coming.

And this gear will mean nothing once raids open in a week

I have gotten 3 190 BOEs in the last week, a couple 181 items isn’t that big of deal.

Firstly, if your issue is only being eligable for loot once per week, you’ll hate how raid loot works.

Second, you CAN help someone else do it, but yes, it is at a detriment to you and your time, especially with the eye of the jailer mechanic. That being said, most days, just doing your dailies maxes the bar, or nearly does.

THAT being said… it’s just the maw.

I fail to see how this is different from how world bosses work. Or for that matter even raid bosses.
