Unless you were going to do 14+ heroics a day not having RDF did not slow you down at all since you weren’t hitting the limit anyways. And if you were it only took 2-3 days to max out gear from heroics and be pre raid BiS.
Right because we have the same result but with a worse process to get there, it’s not rocket science that people don’t like that.
sounds like you are a toxic player TBH could be wrong. could understand one or 2 people might do this because you know it is a MMO with different kinds of people. some people are quirky lets say but that’s people. you will also get this with or without RDF.

If you’re actively trying to find a group as DPS you can’t just casually glance at chat or a tool every once in awhile since you’ll miss groups.
you are correct. but you can make a post that you are looking. when you do find group try engaging with people. then maybe making Friends then it will be easier to find groups later on. but do not kid yourself DPS has always had long que times with RDF i remember having 1 hour long que times. Why? every class can DPS not every class can tank and heal.
im not a toxic player, sometimes i wish i was so i could fit in i guess. but im too old and dont have the energy to be that toxic, self entitled, and willfully ignorant.
but youre still sitting reading your chat… with rdf you dont need to worry about it until your in the dungeon and you put down your run rules and pulls.
with rdf… it all went to barrens chat with only the occasional person in an rdf run being toxic.
as far as toxic people in LFG on maladath here are a few of the responses ive received looking for group…
“what spec are you?” “arcane mage” “thats gay, your an idiot for going arcane”
“cant summon, can you run to dungeon and help?” ::10 minutes later arriving at dungeon only to find the whole group there:: “lol we just wanted to see if you would do it!LOL” ::kicked from group::
“your a mage? thats gay, go get a real class”
“your dranei is hot, are you a girl?” “nope just playing a girl on tv lol” “we dont want any of you breeders”
none of this ever happened to me in RDF or even in LFG chat channel when trying make guild alliances and/or filling up guild raid.
Wait times in Wrath were 10-15 minutes for DPS. And because it was a true first in first out system you were guaranteed a group instead of having to play an RNG game that you might be picked.
thats people lol again you will still get all of this in RDF its still people in there.
that example was to show that these situations of meeting people can steam from anywhere.
i have done maybe 5 runs in the past hour, gundrak,ok,an etc all of these runs i qued for dps on my dk. got a group invite we did the dungeon i left. i didnt have to message at all that was today. i just been reading the forum while i wait or was questing. it works now

that is a lie. yes of course there was times of the day this was true but not all the time people play other games expansion loose hype what ever to say that its always a 15 minutes que is a straight lie. i qued on retail 2 days ago as dps for time seeker it took 30 minutes.
i don’t know if anyone has told you this but wotlk back in the day had close to 12 million subs. its more like 2 million now sooo if you think its gonna have that much of a impact it won’t there not the same playerbase to draw from as there was back then. check ironforge.pro
Nobody that currently plays retail considers rdf their favorite feature.
We do not use rdf in retail beyond leveling to max. Which can now be done in less than 5 hours from 1-max.
The moment you hit max level in retail, you use the same LFG tool that was ported over to wotlk for mythic and mythic plus, heroic raids, arenas, rated bg’s, etc. WE DO NOT USE RDF IN RETAIL.

well im glad a blood elf paladin… probably healer or tank… is getting the runs you want sitting on your butt. no way you were questing while reading forums and in lfg tool. not buying it.
2 things… im not arguing that some folks can meet and make friends on lfg chat, im saying that a majority never will. also… and this is the important part. that hot mess of garbage that encourages gatekeeping and toxicity that is LFG tool, is NOT cross realm, it does not allow you to meet anyone not on your server. therefore, by definition, it is limiting our opportunity at social interaction.
also, rdf guarantees a run LFG does not. so while youre having luck getting runs, do you just not care there are a hundred who arent even though theres a tool out there that was REMOVED that would have everyone running not just a few people.
The exact times don’t particularly matter, they certainly aren’t faster on average than without RDF and since the experience is better not having to deal with chat or the LFG Tool RDF wins.
When you can post on something than a level 10, you may be taken more serious. Until, you have nothing worth adding.
Adding a tank or healer to friends list does. Trying to make social connections so grouping is easier in the future does.

Some days i did all the heroics and would have done more if it wasnt for the lockout, and i am hardly hardcore.
It also effects leveling speed and content consumption of the leveling side, to a degree some people outright dont quest.
You dont like it. Others do. You are assuming that because you dont like it everyone doesnt.
There is an intentional separation between classic and retail, part of not having rdf is keeping that separation.
i have had RDF runs where the tank leaves on last boss and everyone gives up and leaves that is a person problem.
one thing LFG chat does is make you engaged in the game more. i do not know how many time i have gone and done something just because i saw a post about in LFG. mainly when i’m bored putting these groups into a tool i can no longer see would make it so those experiences would have never occurred,
And yet so many tourists seem to think without rdf wotlkc is unplayable. So clearly that’s what defines the game being playable to them.
we speed running are we? want that 100k extra exp per dungeon completion be 80 in 3 days. spam it to 80 with only 3 raid out for the next 6 months you will be in here complaining there is no content cause you speed ran to 80
being that you seem to enjoy sitting in one spot reading chat, this doesnt surprise me that you find it engages you more. i prefer to be active in the world and rdf is more conducive to immersion in the world.
i dont watch chat to find things to do, i go out into the game world and make things happen. and rdf would allow me to do that AND to still run dungeons without wasting my time waiting for someone else to spam a chat channel.
this goes on in LFG far more from the stories ive heard, i cant make a factual comment on this because ive been unable to get anymore than the occasional run.

No it doesn’t because adding a tank/healer in no way guarantees they’ll do so for you on demand.
Right and people who were doing a world tour finished heroics in 2-3 days instead of maybe 1 in the most hardcore of cases. Either way the people who wanted to be in pre raid BiS were before raids even opened so it failed to slow down content consumption there.
And it doesn’t impact leveling speed, it impacts the leveling experience. I can level just as fast grinding quests as grinding RDF it’s just more fun being able to mix in dungeons. So once again not having RDF fails to slow down content consumption.
Right which is why it’s great that RDF is optional, those who don’t like it can simply not use it.
