Last year I got Grumpy- the dog you get from that burning building in Val’sharrah. There was a note about taking care of him, which was nice, but I already had the pet and it’s super easy to get a bunch of him with alts.
It’s actually pretty easy to check to see what pets/mounts somebody does or doesn’t have.
I usually send pets people don’t have and make up a story about them.
Luckily, this year I got a pet I didn’t have yet, and that was nice.

I always look, but on rare occasions blizzard’s site will say someone doesn’t have something, but they do. So that’s always a bummer on those rare occasions.

Yeah that’s what I did when I sent out my gifts (Well not the story part). I got a 100% drop chance mount from that wolf in Draenor as my gift. Something I already own from getting it that expansion. Garn Nighthowl I think it is

This happened to me on a past gift exchange. When I checked my armory online, four mounts I already owned were not showing up, along with several battle pets. Still, the gift giver had to go to the trouble of farming the item to gift it to me so it was truly a case of being the thought that counted. Plus, I was able to pass it on to a guildie that was going through a tough time, so being able to spread the cheer was awesome!

I’d like to say thank you very much to my Santa! I absolutely love my gift and I know that you must have spent a lot of time and effort on it! I will most certainly be using the mini pets, as they fit Grinbor almost too perfectly!
And thank you again Topsail for putting this on this year! I always enjoy being able to give out gifts every year, and I’m really glad you’re keeping the tradition alive!
