WrA Flashpoint

So, this is actually a small writing exercise using the Batman Flashpoint as a basis.

So, for whatever reason, that your character is killed or otherwise indisposed in some form or fashion. Which character who is relevant to their story ends up filling their shoes as though the universe wills it? (basis for this. In the comic, Bruce was killed instead of his dad and his dad became Batman)

Funnily enough I did this in WoD for my Draenei DK and her daughter.

In the main universe My DKs daughter gets killed in Auchindoun which sets her on the path that eventually sees her willingly joining the scourge.

In AU Saehri dies seemingly in an attack by the Iron Horde which leads to her daughter Vahrra joining the Sargeri before my chatacter arrives, sets things straight and convinces Vahrra to abandon the Sargeri.

I thought about an alternative time line where Dawnblood was not wounded and the battle of the Elfgates in the 3rd war. He followed his Prince through the dark portal and became an Illidari.

He would of likely been replaced by his illegitimate son Vychor (my belf warrior) and his not the villain his father is. Vychor would likely be a voice backing the Matriarch’s play for unity under the Light as opposed to his current status as a pauper knight, largely ignored by his father being little more than a fortunate orphan raised by the remaining part of his mother’s family.

It’s an interesting question. Who’d take Sint’s place as “Shadow of War”? At first I thought it’d be her elder brother, Dengarl, who’d become a dark and terrible warlord instead of being a bright and inspiring commander… But my mind changed. Sint has a twin sister who might fit the role even better than Dengarl ever could. Koda is to Sint like how Vergil is to Dante, but with one key difference. Koda doesn’t possess superhuman powers like her sister does, for she was born without the gift of Dragonfire.

In Dragonfire’s place, Koda trained herself to be strong, and accepted foul magic into her body to keep up with those who are more magically inclined. A student of the dark, Koda would become a true Shadow of War. Sint would perish at the hands of the nefarious Lord at the end of the first Dagon story, and Koda would rise to take her place. With dark power and her mastery over espionage, Koda would possess the Blades of Dagon and turn them into an independent faction. From there, Koda would wage a terrible war in the shadows against those who she perceived as the people who took her sister from her. Sint was the first member of her family she had ever felt close to, and to be stolen from her so soon, is the beginning of a dark journey.

In the end, Koda would be a new enemy for the Alliance to face, and an enemy not so easily crushed by raids or warfare. A cunning and shadowy foe, striking from places unseen, mostly unknown to even be an antagonist until it is too late.

In Xiano’s early history he sought out to kill his Father who was a Warlock. Should he have fallen in this conflict, his older Brother Kravok would have heard the news from the elements. First hearing of his younger brother being alive, and then slain would send him into a rage. The Shaman would rush to hellfire to finish the mission Xiano had started. But instead of combating the warlock, Kravok would rain down lighting and sharp wind upon the Warlocks fortress ultimately drawing his father out, and raining the wrath of the elements upon him. Mission done he returns to Nagrand to his Clan. Doing what Xiano did after the warlocks death, challenging the Chieftain of the Scarred Blade, who had sat idle for decades taking the mantle for himself.

I actually had to think on this and think if it would be Loh’s IC father figure (his prelate teacher) or his father (a warmongering Zul Loyalist) to take the role for interest.

Ended up deciding that it would be his father. What would likely happen is Loh’s father convinces the eager young Loh to join the campaign in Pandaria. How it happens would be not too important, but at some point during one of the battles involving the Zandalari, Loh is killed and his father witnesses it and is horrified when he isn’t able to save his son.

From there, he’d probably end up undergoing an Iroh type transformation where he just sort of cuts ties with everyone around him and goes on a extensive soul searching journey, coming to the conclusion his energy in wanting a better place in the world for the Zandalari was being used poorly and that a lot of what he did was not acceptable. Gradually, he’d eventually return to Zandalar end likely side with Rastakhan and Talanji and oppose those he once served in creating a better Zandalar.

The other Thokk

Mein Gott…

That’s brilliant just based on how vague it is.

blizz pls hire me

Actually, this happened several times for me. First, the character was this paladin named Saigejo. He died, and his daughter Ymmir took over his operation. She was a failure, lost a limb, had her fel powers drained from her and is in a semi-vegetative state. Now Rudy is in charge of things, but she’s a Goblin, so she keeps getting distracted by non-essential B.S. like earnings reports, resource acquisition, and hair care products.

Which will probably result in another failure lol

Altielle’s rival from Suramar would be my best bet. Cylanni was always perceived as better at magic than Altielle. She memorized spells easily, her runes and circles were always perfect, and she had that crafty, smug attitude befitting of a future magistrix.

Then the occupation happened. Cylanni had a wake up call and realized there was more to life than parties and magic. She joined the rebellion, and during the raid on the Nighthold she had that fantastical showdown with Altielle that was always meant to be. Unfortunately for Cylanni, however, Altielle came out on top, burning her hands severely and nearly killing her.

Fortunately, Cylanni wasn’t alone and Altielle was captured. It took her a long time to recover from her wounds, but after hearing about a certain warlock resurging in the conflicts of Darkshore, she had no choice but to prepare for another confrontation. Cylanni made her way to Orgrimmar. Eventually. But along the way she’s become a bit different. More resourceful, less reliant on magic. She’s sort of become a bounty hunter for former Legion operatives, and it’s time to find Altielle.

In this other reality, Altielle instead dies from the failed spell that paralyzed her legs in the main one. Cylanni lives her life, joins the rebellion, then has nowhere to go afterwards. Her master, who Altielle murders in the main universe, is still alive, and all seems well. So where does she go?

Anywhere but Suramar. She has her health, her fortune, and her talent as a sorceress. She could go anywhere. So she starts off with Orgrimmar, learning about her new allies. One thing leads to another, and she falls into the place Altielle would have. Makes the same friends, but ultimately the connections aren’t as deep. She’s not Altielle, she doesn’t have that flare or charm mixed with that wicked warlock finesse. It would all be hollow, just like the relationships she had in Suramar.
