On my 28 Chars (14 70s so far in DF) across every Exp now DF included, I never get weapons for main spec from WQs. Every weapon offered through WQs is ALWAYS for one of the Off Specs. The only time this isnt true is if an Off Spec lines up with my Main Spec (eg-Boomkin/Resto Druid). Why is this like this Exp after Exp? Seems ridiculous to me to want people to play other Specs that bad.
Yah it’s weird sometimes. I don’t need the rewards anymore, but like one elite WQ offering a decent strength trinket on my DK and Warrior nice eh? Log over to Paladin, omg nope, INT trinket nooooo! Whyyyyyy, my spec wasn’t even set to holy, lol.
Probably the same reason why you can now get weapon and armor drops from rares you can’t even equip. For some reason between 9.2 and 10.0, blizz somehow lost the tech to ensure only appropriate class gear would drop from rares. Or maybe they fired whichever dev was taking care of it.
Yea it’s like appropriate rare gear was set back to the Vanilla age where the rares only drop said items and no one question that. WQs on the other hand and now that you mention it @ Wagglestorm, most Trinkets are for Off Spec also. Once in a while I get Trinkets for Main Spec but Weapons NEVER. Also, like you stated from one class to another when relogging even if they are similar class stats the WQ offering are so different.
The only characters I’ve had this problem with are my enhancement Shaman getting so many more ele/resto weapons and my BM Hunter getting a steady diet of polearms. Leveling, my casters get far more off hands than main hands or staffs which is annoying.
This is in the current expansion. I usually use heirlooms leveling in older content so I don’t notice it then.
Blizz really just needs to make WQ respect loot spec and be done with it. Also, on the subject of rares, I would rather get gold than an item that is useless for me.
Most likely they fired every one
Same when killing rares, when I get loot its always the wrong armor type or event wrong main stat. I bet blizzard does it to fill some sort of metric involving how much loot they award for open world content.
I doubt it. The people who really understand these things probably left on their own.
It wouldn’t surprise me if it was intentional, a way of making it appear players are going to get rewards without giving them anything usable.
And here I’ll put in a plug again about how BfA leveling dungeons are forced into Legacy Loot by the presence of a level 60, who is forced into those dungeons because they can’t queue for Shadowlands dungeons. So all the levelers get garbage vendor trash gear in most BfA dungeons.
So are they trying to train levelers to be satisfied with getting dungeon gear they can’t equip? This has been reported since last November.
I do agree that smart loot should be enforced while killing rares, WB’s, etc
