It’s actually been announced that Season 3 will commence 2 weeks after 8.2 has been dropped. And that up until that point AotC/CE will be obtainable from both Jaina and Uu’nat.

The argument started as “World Gear doesn’t invalidate BoD gear because CoS has already made it invalid” to which Medaax argued “BoD is current cap for 75% of your slots”
He’s still correct. BoD is current for most slots for the majority of classes. The maximum number of armour slots you can fill from CoS is 3 out of 8. With a lot of those items not being relevant to more than one role.
So any slot you can’t upgrade through CoS has the potential to be invalidated by world content rewards.
