Yeah, I didn’t think about it at first when I first saw a piece of WQ gear corrupt. First thought was “Huh… okay, guess that effects that too.”
It wasn’t until I read this thread that I realized how much trouble that could cause. Yikes…
I guess I’m lucky I have mains on both horde and alliance already high enough geared to deal wtih this, and can just farm token gear for alts. 
I’d hope they would change this. I can’t imagine that makes gearing up an alt a fun experience.
I agree it’s trash and it should not drop from world quest, and if they insist on making it then they need to open the cleansing earlier and let the mementos drop from WQ’s also. If i can get the crap from WQ’s I should be able to get the currency needed to cleanse the crap also. I should not be required to do a 2+ hour quest line to cleans this crap from gear that is from world quests.
It isn’t, I have completely stopped playing alts that have not did the cloak quests because of this. My play time is way down. So I have been doing what I can on a few character and then logging over to FFXIV, I guess that’s what Blizzard wants.
Thanks for the tip, but I oppose the corruption system in principle and don’t care to deal with it on any level. I don’t think that cursed gear drops belong in WoW and don’t want cursed gear to become a common game mechanism going forward.
I agree with you for the most part… the only corrupt item I’m using is solely due to the fact it’s apparently one of the most broken effects in the game (The Infinite Stars one) and as a DPS class, without it you’re basically worthless compared to someone else.
I don’t really like the theme of the corruption though.
Why are you unable to overcome a 5 second slow that procs maybe once every couple minutes? How do you not have the aptitude to move out of a circle that’s smaller than most random mob abilities? If you’re unable to cope with corruption up to 39, you must be dying regularly to wq mobs, in which case corruption is the least of your problems
Is your warlock high enough level to get the BoP tokens from rares? I’ve been collecting a cloth set for when my vulpera priest hits 120
I imagine at the very least the 410 gear should be enough for you to get to your cloak.
I have did the cloak quest on 8 to 10 alts already. I’m not doing it again. I normally have 1 of every class leveled on alliance and 3 or 4 more on horde, I gear the mainly thru WQ because that’s all they do. I like to play the different classes. Why do i need a legendary cloak to play my druid and get upgrades from wq’s when he does not need that cloak to do that content. all it does is punish me for playing the different classes and makes me play a lot less.
I’m not asking for a lot or for them to change the corruption crap. some people like to be punished. If i can get the corruption from world quest then I should be able to get the currency needed to cleanse it from them too, and make the cleanse available without the 2 hour quest line.
The cost is so small I don’t even understand why they put the cost there to begin with, except maybe simply to screw people who get WQ corrupted gear.
This garbage system is just another nail in the coffin for WoW. Got 3 corrupted gear pieces on a single alt while running world quests with 15 corruption each LOL.
No. I say my fresh 120 alt at ilvl 270 walked into Nazjatar, where Lor’themar, Thalyssra, and a legion of Horde archers mowed down packs of mobs for me until I got like six free pieces of gear at the new base. Then I mowed down packs of mobs that a bodyguard NPC tanked for me, and after a whopping hour or so, then I was back to mowing them down solo. A few times throughout, I looked at a mob that was slightly bigger than the rest and thought “hey, maybe I should hit Meta or Blur for this”, or tossed a couple stuns/defensives to stall until the archer volley came back up.
Had I not felt like doing that, I could’ve spent 45 pearls from a main to skip all of that with the same result. But I felt like getting the genuine fresh 120 experience, and how challenging and dangerous it was.
Seriously, just how much easier do you want the overworld to be? Do you want it like the BFA prepatch/squish where a fresh 110 could moonfire everything in sight and half of it would die before reaching melee range? Because that’s what happened when I finished leveling this toon, and it felt more like Cookie Clicker than WoW.
Hell, the only reason Magni won’t outright solo the 8.3 scenarios for you is that he doesn’t gain threat. He’ll totally be able to kill them by himself though, so your sole objective isn’t even to kill stuff so much as maybe not die outright in 20 seconds. Spec tank and afk. Spec healer, hot yourself, and afk. Spec dps and bother to hit buttons. That’s really it.
Yeah there was a thread last night where someone linked a raid log of someone getting a 17k DPS boost (over 1/4 of his total DPS) from a single 410 WQ pants. That was after two 25% nerfs.
This stuff is friggen bananas lol. We’ve already got people planning to swap mains for Mythic based on which toons luck out on corruption first.
My hunter has the infinite stars rank 2 corruption… ti’s silly. .she’s 25 item levels lower the difference is night and day
True. Seems you need 5 Corrupted Mementos that you can only get from the Horrific Visions. Seems there should be a better way to cleanse them for people who want the upgrade gear from WQs that don’t want to run the Visions.
I disagree. Instead the quest to cleanse corruption should automatically pop up the first time you get a corrupted piece of gear.

What would you even be doing at 380 ilvl? Do normal dungeons.
I was quite happy when my emissary dropped a corrupt forged gear peice for my alt. My main hasnt seen a single peice outside the quest one. So it was nice to see I could get them there.
I just did a world quest in zuldazar and got a 66 corruption item. wth It seems awfully high for a 420 ilvl item.
The tiers of corruption are RNG so yeah it can have a chance to roll that.
