I am surprised that I haven’t seen a thread or mention of this. I came across this over the weekend from a wowhead feed. This is put together by a group of players that have come out with some very detailed thoughts/ideas/suggestions to improve the current Warmode content. Take a few minutes to read some of their ideas. They even have a discord (EU and US) where they discuss suggestions. I think Blizzard could implement most of this very easily.
They lost me at “#15 Faction NPCs Will Help You in Battle!”
While they all have great ideas, I’m not sure I like the direction of where this is going. I know this is World of Warcraft and there has always been a focus on Alliance vs Horde in the past, but to me, it’s getting old, and the lore is moving away from that direction anyway.
It could just be me, but these ideas feel like they’re against free for all PvP. I don’t want to fight for the Horde or Alliance, I want to fight for myself and my friends. I want to become an outlaw, criminal, or a pirate in World of Warcraft, killing anyone I want.
This group essentially guaranteed WPvP will never get content - these video game makers are arrogant to the extreme and to have been called out via twitter by Ybarra have surely grinded their spiteful gears.
Not all of their ideas are 10/10 but I can appreciate the thought and detail being put into it. I think that the Open WPvP rewards would not turn out as planned because it would just continue to be a random raid group of faction dropping on 1 player in the open world.
I do like the Territory Control and Guild(s) Wars idea. I think that would help bring some order to the chaos and allow people to work for something instead of just HK farms. I also like the dogtag/ear idea especially if they had a timestamp of the player and who landed the KB and Guild(s) were able to mount them (or just list them on a note) on a wall of a Guild Barracks.
A 3rd Faction (Brigand) that could be made up of Ally and Horde players would be very interesting to run raids on towns/zones for profit.
Im surprised too there wasnt anything said prior. I think its a great effort and idea to try and bring WPvP back into the world in a more structured way without gutting what it is at its heart - fun chaos. A little organized chaos never really hurt anyway anyway.
If ever implemented there are easy and simply bumper guards you can put on the system. Currencies, quest completion/progression, etc, cant be completed in a raid. Hell, even turning off raids or sharding them out of a Call to Azeroth zone. They more or less have the technology to do this. A few quest NPCs and small helper ones here and there wont kill anything. At least not any more than ridiculous profession tools and toys from past expansions.
We already see PvP world quests are popular, WPvP occurs pretty naturally at active elemental areas and other world events, add in some PvP points like the EPL Towers, Hellfire, Zangramarsh, etc and this can be an amazing system that gets people back out into the old world zones. From Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms, even back to Northrend, Pandaria, or anywhere else.
The best way to fix world pvp is to add automatic 80% dampening as soon as you enter wpvp combat.
Healers being able to survive 10+ dps players just casually yoloing around full mana is what makes world pvp unbearable.
No, keep this to arena, thanks.
Can guarantee you there are no healers being able to survive that many DPS unless all of those DPS have no PvP gear and the healer has full conquest gear.
We’re seeing the opposite with mana since there’s a bug which causes a lot of healers to drop down to 20% mana as soon as PvP combat starts. (mana enchantment bug)
Haha, what? No. That would ruin WPvP because suddenly hybrid classes who depend on self-healing because they lack CC or defensives would be screwed.
Killing healers is completely possible with as few as 2 people, or solo if they’re not great. You just have to time your burst and CCing well.
How to deal with healers you can’t kill in world pvp: just keep fighting them forever to punish them for sacrifing the ability to kill anything for immortality.
At first they will laugh at you but then they’ll realize they’re wasting more time than if you were corpse camping them.
Most world pvp problems can be solved by applying enough spite.
I don’t know about that, as a Discipline Priest I didn’t have to sacrifice anything. I have a build for solo WPvP, where the main focus is Purge the Wicked, Expiation (MB + SW:D combined with Eternal Rest PvP talent), Inner Shadow, and Catharsis. Damage is nutty, and the only specs I have trouble killing are other healers.
If it works for you it works for you. I just can’t picture how a healer would have enough burst to be a real threat, but maybe it’s my rogue bias.
