WoW's Narrative Director Compared Himself to a 6 Year Old Coal Miner?

Same reason probably anyone still works at Blizzard: because they are genuinely big fans of the games.

I dunno about you but I don’t want people who genuinely love this game to quit, I’d rather they just have better working conditions :dracthyr_shrug:

Imagine being part of the 10% richer in the country (which these developers are but they kinda don’t want people to know that) and comparing yourself with an child being exploited in a coal mining. No wonder why the game narrative been a crap for quite some time.

Why are you so angry? do you also love communism and hate capitalism like the woke dev?

One of the lead developers thinks scrolling through Twitter is the same as having Black Lung. They have it awful.

MAN, this is 100% Bullcrap.

Imagine you interviewing for a job someone that spends the day complaining about the industry you work, complaining about their job and bosses… That’s a nono (doesn’t even go to an interview).

I just realized the tweet OP is talking about is from September of 2021.

How did you even find this tweet and why do you suddenly care about it now?

That’s kinda weird dude.

They’re paid far, far, FAR more than me and have better working conditions, but no one’s fighting for people like me.

Okay? That still doesn’t mean crunch isn’t a bad thing and shouldn’t exist just because 1 guy said something dumb on Twitter

Someone posted it on another forum and I was shocked.

Which forum would that be?

You realize that crunch is often self-inflicted, right? When developers change their minds mid-cycle and they have to redo months of work?

Developers want you to think it’s the evil publishers doing, when in reality it’s a two-way street.

That’s been the thing. Go stalking social medias of someone you dislike to find something you might be able to get people outraged about.

Humanity is a mistake.

This tracks.

Blizzard being staffed by six year old coal miners would explain both the writing and the Forbidden Reach’s rare mob placement.

Can’t be found if its above ground!

Lmao you gotta be kidding me, yeah totally people making video games just love meeting the unrealistic deadlines imposed by CEOs by working long hours and not sleeping.

I can’t believe anyone can call themselves a “gamer” and want games to be made purely for nothing but profit at the detriment to people who genuinely love the games and want to make them enjoyable for us.

Those deadlines are negotiated between the developer and the publisher.

But this is already how the industry works…
