He most definitely is speaking out of his rump. Trying to use metaphor with dated pictures using modern ethics is pretty disingenuous.

At least the six year old can lift more than Danuser can.

I think he meant to compare it being hard thankless work.

But when you work white collar… It comes across as tone deaf. I can’t know what kind of jobs he had before… So maybe he does know? But yeah it’s not a great look if not

Honestly people comparing their current first-world problems to a legitimate suffering that a MINOR had to go through is quite gross. I don’t care that it’s a metaphor. Lots of people hate their jobs but keep them because of income. I don’t think there’s a person I know that doesn’t complain about their job in some way.

He’s talking about crunch which is well known in the video game industry, working long hours without sleep is just as bad as working back breaking physical labor and I can’t believe anyone would even bother arguing over which is worse.

Both, they’re both awful and shouldn’t exist.
