He most definitely is speaking out of his rump. Trying to use metaphor with dated pictures using modern ethics is pretty disingenuous.
At least the six year old can lift more than Danuser can.

You got me before I corrected my phone speech to text blunder. He did speak out of his butt.
Not to mention, for a coal miner, that kid is remarkably clean and so is his pipe.
I think he meant to compare it being hard thankless work.
But when you work white collar… It comes across as tone deaf. I can’t know what kind of jobs he had before… So maybe he does know? But yeah it’s not a great look if not
Or am I wrong is business a different color collar? Ugh
Steve is equating ‘scrolling through Twitter’ with Black Lung. How bad do you honestly think his working conditions are?
I don’t pretend to know what they are. But I’ll be honest with you. I’m also an outsider because I don’t pay that close attention to him.
So what I say is with Limited knowledge.
Honestly people comparing their current first-world problems to a legitimate suffering that a MINOR had to go through is quite gross. I don’t care that it’s a metaphor. Him sitting behind his desk and scrolling through twitter is not comparable to a disease that is still affecting people today: https://www.lung.org/lung-health-diseases/lung-disease-lookup/black-lung/learn-about-black-lung
Just seems to be a general slam on corporations and not really what this post was titled.
If it’s so bad why doesn’t he quit? That would really stick it to the evil capitalist corporation!

Once I got this corporate gig, I realized I didn’t really need one.
I’m middle management i’m only losing mine slowly.
But I lose a little bit for every lame excuse my employees give me for missing
I feel people like that should really do a blue collar job for a day and see how good they have it lol…
Lots of people hate their jobs but keep them because of income. I don’t think there’s a person I know that doesn’t complain about their job in some way.
He’s talking about crunch which is well known in the video game industry, working long hours without sleep is just as bad as working back breaking physical labor and I can’t believe anyone would even bother arguing over which is worse.
Both, they’re both awful and shouldn’t exist.
“I can’t come to work. There’s a peacock in my garage”.
and in the background you hear “pika-pika”.
I’d skip work, too, if I actually had to do any.
