WOW's most annoying sound

The new whistle sound was necessary, the original one was too pervy and they had to crack down on that

Whenever I take damage as moonkin
at least it’s motivation to not take damage.

Also the dismount sound.

I just want to say, firstly, I have nothing against gnomes.

But the most annoying sound is fighting a gnome lady. Like, the sound they make if you give them the /chop
I always kind of internally cringe and wait for the impact of their voice when I have to target one!

/puts plugs in ears

Loud tiny voice.

It’s been a part of the game for over a decade and they just now decided to change it? Snowflakes detected.

I quite like them, especially as a warrior.

Because wolf-whistling people is rude and disrespectful, I mean yeah I’ve done it in the past myself online, but in real life the only people that wolf-whistle/catcall are men behaving like morons towards women on public transport or why driving past female pedestrians in their cars, now I’m against censorship and don’t consider myself a cultural marxist or anything like that, but in this particular case it was justified, because it’s embarrassing, dehumanizing and invasive to complete strangers.

Granted this is an online game so it’s less of a big deal but one should appreciate why a lot of women get offended by it.

If we actually knew the gender of the player behind the pixels then I may agree with you about it being offensive but since we have no idea I can’t bring myself to, especially since most of the people I know who play this game are guys playing as female toons.

Well even a man catcalling another man is still disrespectful imo, it’s simply dehumanizing that’s all

NYEH!

Change the sound “HumanMaleAggroA.ogg” in \World of Warcraft\Sound\Character\Human\Male to the “Ni!” sound from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and you have comedy gold.

Wow. I agree. But I initially read harpies with a different first vowel.

And kudos to @Wicari for laying down the nostalgia.

“What are the odds of a girl like me and a guy like you getting together?”

She has kind of a cute annoyance, though. It’s endearing to me now.

The Lightforged (aka NextGen) Fem Draenei combat sounds are amazing - warrior af to me. The Classic Fem Draenei is bit more like angry gypsy in flea market (try speaking with a fem Draenei accent after “Classic fem Draenei” for added effect!)

I love her.

“I need a target.”
“I need a target.”
“I need a target.”
“I can’t hit that.”

thankfully It can be silenced

I live in New York city and havent heard a catcall whistle or anyone saying they have heard one outside of a movie since the 80s.

This is blowing it out of proportion. Might as well have removed all emotes, especially the /rude one that on some races actually uses a flip off symbolage if a simple sound is enough for you to be “dehumanized”.
