WoW's bleeding because they can't keep new players and casual players

The need to go pull up scores of third party reference material isn’t great, but I think that could be looked past if progression were as steady and smooth at 60 as it on the way up to 60, but it’s not. Not even remotely.

Old thread, but anywho. To late. This game is mythic+, raid or die now. It is not going to change. Casual players/non instance) are better off shelving this game, and anyone looking at it/ new player should avoid it altogether imo.

it’s not so much that end game is complicated and more PLAYERS make it complicated with sweaty MIN/MAX parsers/gearing/reserving/boosting/GDKP/GOLD.

My warlock i enjoy using Nether portal… but all guides/meta says i am a bad player

My mage here is a GLACIAL SPIKE BUILD - all guides/meta says i am bad even though i have found some success with it in RBG pugs. but getting invited is a problem when your not a META pvp class.

in 2004 wow vs wow classic i saw the biggest difference in players thinking.

in 2004 NO ONE CARED WHAT YOUR PLAYED - they wanted bodies
(played a moonkin in classic getting invites was a HIT OR MISS till i found the right guild that jsut wanted bodies and having fun that i raid most of classic with
(won shadow staff with a 100 against a mage who rolled a 1 and guild burst out laughing taking screenshots)

some sweaty try hards when pugging wanted me to buff their mages parses while other groups saw a moonkin saw a meme and said reroll mage/warrior - and in one case a few of us joined another guilds run and i only got invited since we had a dwarf priest and guild said i wasn’t allowed to roll anything because their excel sheet didn’t contain information for Moonkin and they had to be STRONGARMED into counting me as a mage in their sheets.

there was VERY FEW try hard guilds - now everyone is a wannabe tryhard in classic selling boost/GDKP’s/botting.

i thought the coventant system was great BUT I AM ALSO NOT try harding my choices as between all my characters they are all kyrian/night fae because i like them the most - some builds work better then others - but having fun with your build means more then doing the highest dps with a build you have no fun with.

This game isn’t about the world. C’mon, it’s not like it’s called World of Warcraft or anything.

Oh, wait …

I’m in the same camp these days pretty much. The end game now is just one giant chore.

I don’t see a lot of these posters on the forums either, probably all moved on from last year.

Probably not going to see any fundemental changes for the next expansion

For starters, they can make the rotation of every class 6 buttons max? I hate having 15+ abilities to manage while simultaneously dodging game mechanics

Can we stop this necroing? If you like another game better, just go play that game. It’s that simple.

well if we cant keep them maybe they could stop making content for them.

jesus 95% of this game is about casuals. only raid and m+ left for actual gamers

*damn forgot about pvp. fine. 90%.

The trailer for the Riot MMO looks dope as hell! If Blizzard doesn’t pull their heads out of (well we know where they are) when that game drops, I predict another substantial mass exodus.

Honestly, if Riot actually listens to the players, and makes the changes the players want, then Blizzard deserves every single lost sub they get. Blizzard has a massive ego problem in the management staff, and it’s going to take either Microsoft coming in and firing them, or serious competition from a company like Riot to make them change their ways.

That being said, I am looking forward to trying that MMO and if it’s good, telling Blizzard to get bent and leave for good.

great news. wow needs a good scare. i’ll def. try it.

OMG!

this third party vidya from a random streamer about riot’s mmo has more likes than the official dragonflight trailer.

promising.

Agreed. I’m usually huge on crafting, and not only has it been so messed up the last few expacs, in shadowlands, it just feels boring, and without reason other than making yourself gear. There hasn’t been specialization in forever, no rare crafting recipes that were upgrade worthy. Feels barebones. And that’s just ONE aspect of the game that’s lacking.

Yo, wheres the trailer at.

Tried looking on YT, but I gave up after a solid page of “X creator reacts to Riot new MMO trailer” and no actual trailer.

lol I know this is funny and it is, really…

but at some point, it’s gonna be the truth. is it now? don’t know, it will be a hindsight is 20/20 kinda thing that will leave blizz scratching their heads wondering where they went wrong and all that’s left to do is show them the literal writing on the wall.

Content that can’t be bought out. PvP players may likely be the last stronghold of players with the return of equal ilvl conquest gear. PvE will remain in a state of low morale as players can consistently just buy AotC, KSM, etc towards being more “skillful” players.

All there is to do is race grind to cap and then the raid. The game that plays like a job. Fun? Ridiculous RNG, time gates, currencies, etc. Time played has not equated to fun or value for money spent. WoW is like going to work and your employer cheats you and takes back everything.
My sub ends in 8 days. Going to take a break and see if there is enough fun content before I come back

I sincerely don’t think there’s anything Blizz can do. It’s been alive so long with such a diverse populace that it can’t hope to appease everyone. They have a playerbase that simultaneously whines about not having choices, and then, when given a talent tree, whines about that, too. A playerbase that wants everything most expedient for getting that next piece of gear, but then says Blizz’s story lacks magic and fun, lol. It’s a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don’t situation. Add to that the amount of people that are addicted to WoW because of lack of real-world success and responsibility + the human tendency to only remember and comment on the bad (never the good), and you have a recipe for disaster.

I don’t think Blizz is the one who needs to have a sit down and ask themselves what they need and want, lol. But self-awareness is a rare quality.

Just waiting for my current sub to run out. This seems like a bad revert back to Cata thinking that blew up and backfired.

Forbes? I seriously cannot be bothered to turn off my ad blocker

Wasn’t it the beginning of BFA & then SL the hardcore no life players were complaining because they were “ignored”? At least now Blizzard is paying attention to a fraction of the player base.
