Wowhead M+ Tier List

Saying that, I think it can feel worse when healer or tank have a huge gap between #1 and the rest simply because there’s only one in a party.

I’d say that the leaders and or players in those groups were just bad. Aug is good but by no means do you need an aug for an 18 or even a 25. Just a self fulfilling prophecy, I guess in that sense playing dev has saved you some trouble LOL.

No s tier dps means pure Healer and Tank groups are meta and must have the almighty tier list says so /s

Yup. Meanwhile sitting here looking at the lists and they are like, “Aug brings zephyr and these buffs for the tank and healer, so amazing!” Dev brings Zephyr, and can bring Renewing Blaze for anyone. I am just waiting to see how things play out because Dev destroys it in trivial content.

Oh boy, my main dps class is C tier. Looking forward to not getting invited to even an M0.

to answer a few questions:

there are a few dps that are very clearly out of place. WW is too low, Outlaw is too low, Aff is better than ele unless ele is simply that high because of raid buff, and unholy is way too high.

prevoker is dog in pugs, people are going to invite and be so unbelievably tilted when it doesnt do actual “S” tier stuff. I think holy is on par with MW but maybe because MW has interrupt/stops and those are pretty important this season(when arent they)

Tanks, dont even get me started, what an absolute mess. if youre a tank, completely ignore that list

the reason these tier lists are dog is because it creates unrealistic standards for the community and creates toxic environments for all the people who this list will never ever apply to. there needs to be a massive disclaimer when creating these lists that they do not apply to you unless you are pushing title keys.

in s3 DF, i did a kinda zero to hero and people were absolute meta slaves in the 21-24 range where you could literally create any comp and the key would fall over.

always invite the best player possible kids, dont worry about the class until youre a title pusher : )

Because it gets them clicks and therefore ad revenue.

Easiest way to not enjoy the game:
Worring about numbers and if your class/spec is FotM

Hmm my expected group comp is Brewmaster, fury warrior, marks hunter, sin rogue, Resto druid.

All 3k + friends group built for group synergy with total disregard of any “tier list”.

These tier lists do nothing but make 1400 rated players exclude each other from keys based on some list they read on wow head.

blizz failed to complete hero talents and just… talents… before TWW launch so any tier talk is irrelevant until December when we learn what classes can do after their reworks mid-season.

can’t say I ever see that. Do you mean at the beginning of a season where only the best players will be getting 1400 week 1 and 2?

Do you mean mid-season when 60% of m+ players quit at 1600 KSM?

Or do you mean later than that?

Literally the only time what you’re saying happens is week 1 or 2 when we’re assuming bis tier. So you’re not really making any kind of point. If you really have 4 friends for m+ how would you even know what queues for everyone else are even looking like

Hunters have Lust.

They will ALWAYS be invited.

I also remember a point in SL when BM Hunter was last or second-to-last on one of those charts … and the BM Hunter in our raid was always top of the charts, always parsing 95+.

That’s the problem: Blizzard only really cares about the top 1%. The balance at the top is sorta decent.

If you can’t parse that high, they simply mutter: “That’s a skill issue.” And to an extent, it’s true. Why should they bother with balance dynamics across a broad range of parse-percentages, when the real underlying issue is the skill of the player?

I have a hard time believing Hunters are, or certainly will continue to be, that bad. Mages, Hunters, and Paladins are the god classes of WoW. They’re ALWAYS S-tier.

Meta is just going to be vengeance, resto, aug, fire, and shadow again. Just accept it.

So do shamans, whose three specs are all top tier. And mages, who has two specs that are in a better place than the ranged hunter specs. Evokers have it too, and many players will still want an Aug even in mid level keys. If all else fails, there are drums.

These are all better picks than a hunter that also bring additional utility and group buffs, assuming they are played equally well.

People saying tier lists don’t matter in mid level keys underestimate how picky the PUG community is. Item level and previous season RIO score help, but if you don’t stand out in that way, PUG players absolutely will prefer specs that perform well and bring utility/buffs. There is no reason to.

I will play mostly with friends and communities (but I’m a shaman and already was one when they weren’t in a good place), but if I were to invite a random player to a group from the tool, I’d simply not pick a hunter. Not because I hate hunters, but because I’d not want too many melees (SV), BM is under-tuned and I have only seen few MMs that I felt played well. I’d rather take an affliction warlock, a mage, or even another shaman. Or a balance druid for the battle rez and the group buff.

I do agree that these premature tier lists are sensationalist, though, especially if players uncritically treat them as gospel. I’m also wary of FOTM rerollers who are unlikely to play their new class/spec well.

you could have just stopped there

Tier lists are a meme if your not in the top 5% or less of players on a skill level.

Will other players in the 90-95% judge your class/spec? Probably. They’re the only ones missing out though.

My daily affirmation: “I’m going to do a terrific dungeon today. And I’m going to help people. Because I’m good enough. I’m smart enough. And dog-gone-it, people like me.”
