It seems like every time I open Wowhead in my browser while I’m playing WoW that my game almost instantly runs slower with so much more lag. No other WoW support website does that to my game, either, so it’s really frustrating!
Does anyone else have that problem, and, if so, what measures have you taken to resolve it?
I use chrome and get the extensions UblockOrigin and Adblock and it works great. Though wowhead videos show up again but theres a line you add to ublockorigin to block them again.
No pop ups or slowdowns with WoWhead ever since installing those extensions.
Wowhead has some serious issues with ads on their site, adblocker Ultimate for FF and it’s a good day. Even works on my little baby laptop.
I use ublock and adblock in Opera browser. No issues.
Ublock and adblock are pretty mandatory for general internet use these days. Cant even watch youtube without getting blasted by ads every 3 min without adblock.
The only solutions are to either install an ad-blocker, or subscribe to wowhead and eliminate ads that way.
but why subscribe to wowhead when they put malicious ads in the first place?
I was only listing it as an option, not recommending it. I personally am subscribed, but only because I got frustrated when ads started getting through my ad-blocker. My ultimate wish would be for someone to develop an alternative website with similar information but ran by people willing to use better ad companies.
