I’m being completely honest here. No toxic no meme, genuine feedback and I truly mean this.
Making half the tier set bonuses be the exact same based on your role reeks of laziness and lack of imagination and creativity. It screams “doing less work and calling it the same as before”. Why are priests and druids having the same 2 piece bonus? They are completely different classes that do different things even as healers, yet they’re going to have the same tier bonus? Prot paladins and Veng DHs the same. MM Hunters and Affy Warlocks etc etc. If you’re just out of ideas for tier bonuses that’s fine but doing this and pretending that it’s a major positive is not it. When everyone is the same, nobody is different and that’s not good for tier sets.
Also not a fan of 2 set being role base, leave that for a non tier set pieces like a unique item set that drops in raid (such as a Weapon + Trinket like in the current raid tier). Maybe have it be a Trinket and Ring set.
Also not a fan of the casino gambling theme for the 4 piece set bonus.
Is midnight going to be another phoned in filler xpack too?
11.1 PTR forums are gonna be spicy.
Also, all the feedback in the world isn’t going to change these tier bonuses
Devil’s Advocate:
Because how much “fake power” do you want?
You’re still getting the “unique bonus” that you want. Just in the 4-piece instead of both the 2 and 4.
As for why it’s not in the 2-set anymore… every time you present the argument “they’re different”, you’re ignoring what the bonus is: the fact “you’re the same.” At the end of the day (or the beginning of the queue), you’re not special, you’re not unique. You’re just: tank, dps, healer.
Look at it another way.
Imagine you have 100 stat points.
I then take away 20 stat points… and just give them right back to you in your set bonus. Whatever your “class themed” ability is, I just add 20 to it to make up for the 20 I just took away and … it seems that would make you happy since it’s retaining the “individual aspect” of the set bonus.
And you don’t see how THAT is lazy?? lol
That’s all our set bonuses really are. It’s power we would otherwise have in the first place, simply taken away during the “balancing phase” of class design of a new tier, and given back to us in the set bonus.
You’re not losing anywhere near as much as you think you are.
yeah so you may as well unsub.
I completely agree with this. At the worst, the set bonuses per role might mean there’s one best tank spec and one best heal spec that fit the set bonus the best, wow, totally different from what the game is currently like lol. And I really doubt how much of a difference the set bonus will make over what the meta is anyway.
ALSO…
What if this “base 2-piece, generic role” set bonus…
… is something that unilaterally deals with the M+ affix?
Now you don’t have to worry about bringing a meta-class… since every class with a 2-set bonus can deal with it.
Which is actually something this community has been asking for. Now we get it… and everyone complains. lol
And also makes it easier to balance tier for all specs and one isn’t super overpowered. Which, yeah, I guess you could say is “lazy”, but also might make the game more balanced class wise, which is also what people have been asking for.
It’s not going tk be easier to balance.
“Your healing spells have a chance to grant insurance”
Not all of the healers are the same. For example, Disc Priest casts significantly less healing spells than a Holy Priest.
I need to pick a goblin to get to 80, so they can be the first through here. Running it with my Warlock will be meh, at best.
Not sure about the new cars, or keeping Brann as the Delves companion. We could still get Alt skins for him, so that the kit still works the same, but we can have some variety to our Delves, instead of that same guy over and over. I don’t even care if my alts are silent partners, as long as I can use them in solo content (like follower dungeons, as well).
Wrong, Atonement heals people and counts as your DPS abilities being “casting healing spells”
No, they’ll be done with player housing by then.
What do these buzzwords mean
I would really like to see blizzard revert the no-flying concept in Undermine.
I don’t really want to engage with ANOTHER new zone that has no flying (I’m pretty much already fed up with Siren’s Isle).
On Siren’s Isle, there are just mobs everywhere and it’s almost impossible for me to get to a rare I need when it spawns.
It’s just such an unenjoyable experience that could be easily alleviated with the addition of flying (yes I know in six weeks we can fly but I don’t think I want to deal with this zone for five more weeks to unlock that).
Sounds like they need to relearn the lesson, “Create an immune timer for the rare when it spawns, so that people have time to get there.”
Isn’t this why they give us the goblin jetpacks?
Why not just give us flight instead of an inferior option?
I don’t think anyone can reasonably argue that these jet packs actually function as a means of travel as efficiently as dragon riding.
