Wow51900319 - Spectrum problem?

I want to report this as a widespread issue. I’ve seen plenty of threads where people are getting constantly disconnected from the game at seemingly random frequencies. I’ve troubleshooted and done everything that Blizzard/Google has suggested to resolve. I get disconnected infrequently or once every 2 minutes getting this error code. This only happens in WOW, all other games I play on the internet or Discord have no issues/disconnects. My ISP is Spectrum which seems to be a common offender based on other threads I’ve read. I just got off the phone with them and all they could do was instruct me to power cycle… so I honestly don’t think that there’s anything they can help with.

From what I’ve read this is either a PC Hardware issue or an issue with Blizzard itself. I just replaced all of my ethernet/coaxial cables but I’m still getting the error. I’m just looking for something specific if its Hardware and if it’s Blizzard well I just hope to give this issue more attention. I just resubbed and boosted for Classic and feel like I wasted $65. If I can’t resolve this then I’m going to skip on Dragonflight - not a threat, would be a bummer.

Please let me know if there’s anything I can share here that might help. I am not that savvy when it comes to Networking/Internet issues, so any assistance would be very helpful.

I get a variety of errors, most recently WOW51900328. Same story, I will sometimes get kicked 3 or 4 times in 10 minutes. Other times I go an hour or so without a DC. Funny enough I am also on Spectrum. And likewise, I don’t get kicked from any other games, including any other Blizzard games. I have done a complete fresh wipe of the game and addons and interface. Replaced hardware, replaced modem/router. None seem to fix the issue.

same here, error WOW51900328. none of the reccomended fixes work, including disabling firewall entirely. Just thankful this didnt happen before we finished nax25. Do we have an ETA on this fix??

Same issue, running spectrum, a random disconnect followed by an error message and then a perpetually stuck on the connecting screen.

I was having a very similar issue. Spectrum internet and I’d get random lag spikes followed by being disconnected. Had to close Battle.net to even reconnect.

Other games worked fine and I was absolutely connected to the internet.

What seems to have resolved this for me is swapping from a wifi connection on my network to a cable connection. Haven’t had this issue since (only been a day, though). Not everyone can do this easily and maybe the problem varies for others, but it worked for me.

Still, it’s odd this is/was only an issue with WoW and so many people are having the same/very similar issues. I play other online games and have had no issues or lag spikes. It seems like there’s still some issue with WoW/Battle.Net.

Hey there,

Can everyone share the make and model of your router and/or modem?

Also are you using wired ethernet connections or using wifi?

We’ve seen some reports of WoW disconnections happening with model SAC2V1K routers. Unfortunately we haven’t been able to identify if there’s a specific firmware issue or hardware issue with those devices causing problems.

Hi Jambrix, thanks for replying!

Using a wired ethernet connection.
Modem: Arris / TM1602A
Router: Spectrum / SAC2V1K

My router is a Sax1v1r and my modem is a docsis3.1 Ill try connecting a cable in a moment. Will report back.

Enable to secure new cable as wal-marts as time restricted due to COVID. Will report at earliest convenience.

Okay, i acquired a cat cable and hardwired it. I also upgraded my router from a Sax1v1r and upgraded to Ax3000 nighthawk. The problem still persists. I believe that leaves the modem.

if you aren’t using the modem mentioned then i would post a winmtr

All the hyperlinks were removed for formatting. You don’t have to be a scientist to discern its getting hung up on the 14th spot…so who is going to tell spectrum?

It actually looks like there is still an issue with your first connection to your modem or router. That test was kind of short but you lost 1 packet and your worst latency was very high. If that’s wifi you might have a wifi issue, and should test with ethernet. if that is ethernet, you might try connecting right to your modem.

yes, i can do that. This connection was via WiFi. Do you want me to connect the Ethernet into the router as an in-between step or go directly to modem??

I’d probably try the router first, and only try the modem directly if it still shows an issue.

This is directly into the router. I’m moving to the modem bc of the same hangup

That test looks pretty much perfect, though again was very short. You could run it for 5-10 minutes to make sure a problem doesn’t pop up with more time, but you could also just see if you still have an in-game problem when connected hardwired like that. If the problem is gone, but comes back when you switch back to wifi, then you will know its either the router having a wifi issue, or your connection to the router’s wifi that is the issue. Of course, if you can just stay hardwired permanently then that’s ideal anyhow.

ahhh when you said the 1st test looks short i thought you meant the length of the format, not how long it had been running for lol. okay, i can tell you even with a wire running directly into the modem, I still can not log into the game at any point, prepetually stuck on “connecting” I’m able to play any other blizzard game, or do anything else on the internet. When it first started I got the WOW51900328 error code, now not even that. Mind you I was playing the game for 2.5 weeks daily with no problem before a random DC and then being unable to play.

This is with the ethernet connected directly into the router after running for some time.

I think your connection looks fine. Even your wifi connection while it wasn’t great, you should’ve been able to connect to the game.

I would guess something on your computer began blocking your connection. I would try these things https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/21829 I’m not as good at troubleshooting this sort of thing, but that’s a start, maybe someone else or a blue will have some more info.

Thank you for your Assistence Tofflemire, I can assure you i’ve also closed all virus protection, added all blizzard app to the trusted list on windows defender, renamed and or deleted all my interface files, I’ve done a complete uninstall/reinstall on both wow and battle.net app. Everything was perfect until last Saturday, disconnect and then never able to log back in again. All other blizzards games are fine, and rest of the internet works.
