WoW would not be successful without Asmongold

Yeah, he’s got that test tube looking going on for him. Makes sense.

Doesn’t account for the fact that wow was successful for almost 10 years before he started making content. but sure, whatever helps you sleep at night.

Attacking someone’s looks for their political views is very… what is the word I’m looking for… I’ll go with odd because I like all of you.

VERY ODD

Even though Ted Cruz is a hypocrite on many levels, he is probably the only member of Congress who understands videogames and how monetization works. That’s kind of scary.

I’m just making jokes, I actually wasn’t paying attention to the original part of that conversation to be fair. lol

I have a Ted Cruz joke I’d put here but I’d probably get a forum vacation.

If Asmongold had never gotten into streaming in the first place, World of Warcraft would essentially be in exactly the same position it is today, for better or worse.

I don’t deny his viewership numbers but his importance in the grand scheme of things is vastly overrated.

Yeah, he’s left his mark on the game for sure. But people give him way more credit than his deserves. Really now, outside of topics like his, when is he every talked about? Rarely ever. >.>

True and real

Bros, you can’t just ask the man to ditch his entire personality like that.

HA !!! GOOD ONE !!!

Asmongold is the number one trash talking critic of World of Warcraft. He sees the OUT-Rage expressed by a small minority of vocal people who dominate the forums, he makes funny faces to attract the 13 going on 40 crowd then he spews out the rage bait.

The idea that he has increased subscriptions is ludicrous. He’s all about ranting for “clicks” which up his ad rates so he can rake in the dough.

Influence yes but influence to add subscriptions or to scare new players away?

Not only did he not make the game, but without it he wouldn’t have been made.

Putin does too, I sure wouldn’t be proud about that… Then again in his case, he was happy to vote for the Felon ex-president including making in game events to make a ‘T’.

Game would be better off without, definitely. If only Blizzard enforced their rules.

Streamers don’t keep this game alive.

The players that spend money through tokens, subscriptions, and Blizzard shop items do.

The players that play WoW, rather than stare at their computers and watch someone else play–keep the game alive.

People watch Asmon or any other streamer for entertainment.

If they like the game–they’d be playing the game instead of watching him play it and scream and complain and be overdramatic.

These are the people influenced by people like Asmongold hence his involvement in the success of the game :man_facepalming:

no, but buy a store mount and he and his followers will spit on you in game.

I Feel like this is a personal attack, can you explain? All I said is to not be rude which is what you’re doing right now.

Oh no, how will you ever recover from such abuse?

Nah.

WoW had millions of subscribers, up to 10 million in Wrath, before Asmon even was a thing.

He doesn’t influence anybody to play. He’s probably influenced more people to quit–if anything.

If the game ain’t fun, people won’t play.
If the game is fun, people will play.

It’s as simple as that.

Why do I get the feeling you tried Twitch and failed at it so you project that insecurity onto successful and impactful streamers like Asmongold?
