I think I’ve been having this issue since maybe a month or two after TWW’s launch (maybe before, I can’t remember when this started happening) but I keep running into this issue where either a new Windows Update, or a new update to WoW ends up just outright breaking WoW’s .exe file, making the game unlaunchable without deleting the exe and making the launcher repair the game. (I’ve tried just scanning and repairing without deleting the .exe and the launcher just takes an hour to scan and repair, says nothing’s wrong, and the issue persists)
First, I noticed this as just the launcher wouldn’t launch the game, and after checking the game’s files, I’d find the .exe lacking that typical WoW logo, to which just using the .exe would result in my computer saying the app can’t run or when the logo DOES show up, it just says it has invalid access to memory location.
Does anyone know a fix for this? deleting the .exe has been working so far but it does get kinda annoying when a Windows update or a new update to the game itself has a risk of just breaking the .exe especially when I have to wait almost an hour for the game to get fixed.
