WoW Uninstalled itself?

I was on my computer and Overwatch said it needed an update, so I pressed update and it said “16gb”… I was confused, restart the computer (not HARD reset) and now WoW and Overwatch are both uninstalled… I cannot locate them.

Howdy!

Most of these time this is related to a corrupted cache file which can make the Blizzard app forget where the games are located. You would simply locate the game, it should update the game and you should be golden. Now if the games are honestly gone suddenly that is a more serious issue of hard drive corruption or a system optimization program going wrong.

I would recommend the following steps:

  1. Ensure your Operating System and Drivers are fully up to date.

  2. Update your Anti-virus then setup your anti-virus to fully exclude the Blizzard app and our games once reinstalled.

  3. Run Scandisk and repair on the Operating System if issues are found.

  4. If you run any system cleaner or third party optimization software try disabling it.

Thank you!

Yup… same thing happened to me today. WAs playing wow perfectly fine last night… now launcher can’t find wow classic. I used the locate button and it says that the game isn’t in the folder.

Now the Battlenet client isn’t even working… My drivers are up to date, so are my AVs and I ran scandisk… Battlenet is just a big white block… I can’t imagine this being my brand new computers fault

Hey there Taolia,

As a temporary test measure, I might suggest uninstalling the AV software to rule out software compatibility. Disabling it may not work since security software will often still run even while disabled.

Once it’s removed, go ahead and reinstall the app.
