WoW tv show by makers of GoT

No. No. No. NO. GoT is a dumpster fire. All they did was take the history of the War of the Roses, change the names of people and locations, and then add a crapton of sex and violence to sell it. WoW does not need that treatment.

No one would care. The WoW movie bombed. Any studio who bankrolls a WoW TV show would lose their money.

makers of GoTā€¦ NEVERā€¦ Those people shouldnā€™t even be allowed to have cameras on their phones now for the crime that was season 8ā€¦

Made by the same people who utterly killed one of the best television shows of all time in but a single season, and an adaptation of a series of books that was already adapted into what was for all intents and purposes the best trilogy in cinematic history?

How badly could this possibly go?

Please no, theyā€™ll ruin the dragons. Real dragons are hexapods.

So, just a few corrections, here.

First off, the Tolkien Amazon series is not a ā€œlord of the ringsā€ series, itā€™s set in the Second Age. (Lord of the Rings was set in the Third Age, about 3,000 years after the end of the Second Age.)

If the Tolkien series is about the Fall of Numenor, then the gap is about 3,000 years. If the Tolkien series is about the War of the Elves and Sauron, then the gap will be even wider, almost 5,000 years.

Second, Iā€™ve seen no source that the ā€œmakers of GOTā€ are doing the Tolkien series. The closest thing I could find was a list of the executive producers & producers, which had two names from GoT out of eleven (good grief!) producers / executive producers:

Executive Producers Lindsey Weber (ā€œ10 Cloverfield Laneā€), Bruce Richmond (ā€œGame of Thronesā€), Gene Kelly (ā€œBoardwalk Empireā€), and Amazonā€™s former head of genre programming Sharon Tal Yguado; writer and executive producer Gennifer Hutchison (ā€œBreaking Badā€); writer and executive producer Jason Cahill (ā€œThe Sopranosā€); writer and executive producer Justin Doble (ā€œStranger Thingsā€); consulting producers Bryan Cogman (ā€œGame of Thronesā€) and Stephany Folsom (ā€œToy Story 4ā€); producer Ron Ames (ā€œThe Aviatorā€); writer and co-producer Helen Shang (ā€œHannibalā€).

And even the article has a bad title. Shame on them.

With the amount of WoW content they can pull from, I donā€™t think theyā€™ll do a good job. I didnā€™t even know you can botch up a GoT when the first 6 seasons were that solid, only to AFK AV the last seasonā€¦

Iā€™m all for WoW content in other media but not with GoT folks.

Did you watch Season 8?

I will never watch another product by those people ever again.

I can agree with differences in writing. I can agree with a show having an ending I donā€™t agree with. But show-writers purposefully screwing over an audience that has had a 20 year build-up because they wanted to work on a different project?

I would expect thick plot armors, poor writing and too much visual effect that cater to the lowest demographic.

Gotta agree, GoT maybe not, a WoW series in the creative style of Last Airbender however would be amazing. Just make sure they get my good sideā€¦

There was a show that had an MMORPG attached to it and the writers would actually write about guilds in the game that achieved world firsts and such (forgot the name of the show and game unfortunately, was like a post-apocalyptic/sci-fi sort)

If WoW had that just imagine someone like Sean Bean trying to say: ā€œThe Horde forces were routed by a guild of heroes known as Press F To Fartā€ with a serious face, or some guy insisting his pantsless belf named Deathsquelch be awarded an award by Lorā€™themarā€¦

A LotR tv series has some serious standards not from GoT but from the movie trilogy (Hobbit too). The number of people with different crafts from various fields that help create the movie series, is a hard standard to match.

oh boy, theyre gonna ruin the last seasons

Might have agreed but they killed it so bad, I donā€™t think theyā€™re gonna do WoW justice.

1000% percent this. As soon as the HBO writers no longer had George R.R. Martinā€™s source material to lean on, the show dived straight into the crapper. But the first four seasons were top notch.

Sounds more like bad news, considering what Jackson got away with in The Hobbit and how GoT ended flat on its face.

Plus Warcraft is kinda a dumpster fire when it comes to story telling atm not unless they do something smart like an Arthas rise and fall series.

I just donā€™t see them being that smart or letting their egos and modern American politics mingle with their theme as it all swirls down the toilet bowl.

WoW lore has never been good. Itā€™s not really at the same lvl as GoT or LOTR.

It most likely wouldnā€™t have a large enough audience to justify the costs into making it good.

The talent in GoTs production was bring top tier source material to life. Once they ran out of that, GoT went massively downhill.

Iā€™d hate to see what they would do with WoWā€™s source material, as weak as it is.
