Hello, I’m having a very strange bug that sometimes occurs when I have WoW open. This does not occur every time I play, but often when I am in the Spires of Ascension dungeon, my monitor will randomly “lose connection” and go to sleep for a couple of seconds.
I have verified that the connection cable is cleanly installed, I have checked GPU temps and it’s not near temp limit.
I’m not sure how to replicate this bug but I am sure it’s ONLY related to WoW because it does not occur when I’m playing other games. I can continue hearing game sounds while this is happening, and if I alt-f4 the WoW client while this bug is occurring then the monitor immediately regains connection. I think it may be related to having a video playing in a browser in a background though, I’ve noticed it occurs more often when I am listening to a Youtube/Twitch video while I play.
First thing to test is the cable connecting your monitor to your computer. Use compressed air to blow out the connection spots on both the monitor and the computer. Try with a different monitor if you can.
It’s likely a driver crash/hang or something along those lines, causing the drivers to restart and reconnect to the monitor. Try doing a DDU Uninstaller clean and reinstall the latest AMD/Nvidia drivers.
Make sure to read all the directions carefully so that Windows doesn’t automatically reinstall some older driver:

Don’t worry, it’s a safe and virus free program. Even Nvidia CS reps link it on their forums.
Nvidia drivers here, but make sure to pick the right version of Windows: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/
