WoW Tokens

You think if the mount had shown up in game for 1.2 mil you wouldn’t see a similar run on tokens?

I bet the effect would’ve been similar. At least early on. As it stands, I suspect you will see the token hit 300k by the weekend.

An AH and a mailbox, are you joking? This is like one of the most OP things in the game if you regularly engage with professions.

To the moon!

I don’t think, I know.

Tokens are sold out right now because they’re being bought to convert to 15 dollars in balance.

The other way around drives the price down by flooding the market with tokens, while people buying them off the AH remains relatively static.

That’s even assuming you’d see the same rush to spend 90$ as you would to convert 1.2m gold to 90$, which is very unlikely.

You do understand Blizzard completely controls this fake video game currency and you’d have absolutely zero idea if they suddenly locked them to force people to buy a $90 mount, right? Or do you not think Actiblizz would do that because you’re just that cooked?

Its a closed loop system my man. It wouldnt work nor would it be predictable if it was changed randomly.

I understand everyone loves a good conspiracy, but put the tin foil away. They make 33% more money on tokens than outright buying something.

Fraud’s a pretty serious offense, and it only takes one person in the know to confirm it.

Considering Blizzard will make $120 for every $90 mount bought with tokens, you think they would encourage it.

At this point Blizzard should honor any wow token purchases at the current “going rate” listed. This is some janky messed up way to inflate the price of the token.

You are right here.

But what causes the amount of gold per token to go up? Isn’t it lack of supply? So wouldn’t we inevitably end up with the same seesaw?

They absolutely wouldn’t do that because they make more money through the sales of token than any item selling directly for real money on the store. For every Gilded Brutosaur then sell via tokens, they generate $120 of real money.

They knew the demand for tokens was going to rise and that players would flock to buy tokens. There’s no “supply” and a ton of “demand”.

Feels intentional?

Blizz won’t remedy the situation because it’s not beneficial for them to do so. Players get handed down frustration because their gold can not be converted into anything at all for the time being while prices skyrocket?

What were they supposed to do? Mail players who sold tokens on the auction house before and say, “Wanna make some gold? Tokens are going to be in demand at this time.”

A little WOW insider trading going on.

Or they could have manipulated the price more and said they were 300,000 gold to entice people to list theirs for sale. If I am spending $20 cash on a token to trade for gold, I want as much gold from it as possible. 100 gold per dollar isn’t worth it. Is 150 gold per dollar?

Supply only applies to the AH, the actual source of Tokens (real money) is functionally infinite.

The chain stops at the AH. The Bnet app isn’t running out of tokens, ever. Just the AH is.

Tinderboxes last week.

Tokens this week.

I see you whether you want to act like it’s some conspiracy theory garbage or not.

221,000 and rising.

Edit: Lol, no you still can’t have one either.

Same. Let some AH bot waste their money. I only sell anyway, so let’s drive that price up.

There are apples in my fridge, therefore apples in all fridges.

It sounds like you don’t understand how the system works. You can’t buy, because no one is selling one. This can largely be blamed on how the price is set.

If people could sell for a price of their choosing, you’d never run out of tokens to buy. But you might have to pay a million gold for one token.

Tokens have run out. Because people know the price will slowly trend upward(they clamp price pretty hard), so you have people wanting to cash out while the rate of favorable for gold to token. But you also have a supply side problem in that people who might buy a token to sell, knows they can wait and get a better price in a few days.

If Tokens were always available to buy from the Auction House without people having to buy them first, Blizzard would go out of business.
