WoW token price

Can this thing please be capped somewhere under 300k? This is ridiculous.

For years the token was around 200k, but now is out of control, and the reason is pretty clear: Gold inflation + D4 launch.

It’s 279k rn

Hmm tempting…

Glad I picked up 15 back when they dropped to 135k.

capitalism says: nope.

if you cap it, you experience… SHORTAGE.

where you want to buy one but there’s none on the market to buy.

Lots of people want the token, and if it’s worthless less people will pay $20 to put it on the AH.

I miss those days :frowning: I token capped and Bnet balance capped when it was around 140k earlier this year. Now I’m down to my last token and two-thirds of the way through the Bnet balance :frowning:

Supply and demand unfortunately.

Unfortunately you are correct. It seems to be the lowest when a new expansion hits (which is not surprising), followed by the release of major patches, although major patch release prices are generally significantly higher than post-expansion release prices. We may not see another bottom-out in pricing until 11.0.

Also the fact that bossters are selling 3x that for 22$ American.

No, that would defeat the purpose.

Yeah, it’s going for a lot right now but what’s the point of gold anymore anyway? I’ve barely spent any this expansion because you don’t need more than like 50k total lol

people are convinced Blizzard lets the player base dictate the token value, but that is highly unlikely, they will set it where the most money is made, no i do not wear a tinfoil hat :alien:

It’s really not worth buying a token with gold when it’s this high.

I know. People always cite supply and demand whilst forgetting blizzard controls the supply and its unlimited. There is no shortage of digital WoW gold thus supply isn’t a thing.

Supply and demand

Right now nobody apparently needs gold, so nobody is buying them to sell on AH.

So the price has to go up, to try to incentivize people to buy WoWtokens for gold. Like "Look! So much gold you can’t resist!

If token was capped at a low value, they would just sell out instantly so there’d be none available to buy on the AH anyway.

What? They don’t list them and give tokens away for free. Someone has to pay the real $ to the store before someone can buy one on the AH. The supply is the buyers willing to pay real $ to sell them on the AH.

I probably won’t be able to afford them anymore, so that means one less buyer. If there are others like me, that means less demand, which means prices could go down again.
