I am in no way an expert but I think the token being available to that specific market has to do with how they play/pay for their game time. iirc they have similar limits to China/Korea on PC game time usage, or at least a different pay set up for internet use than western markets?

Please someone correct me if I am wrong as this is just me putting out a hypothetical based on second hand info.

It does say right there on the page “gold for game time”. It in no way mentions real money for token or gold.

I hope not.

But even if its planned, judging by how long race change is taking its safe to say we’ll be done with ICC by the time that rolls around.

Fair, I did see that.

I was under the impression that some Asian markets had different payment models for online access and thought that may be somehow related. Less monthly model and more a hourly or daily one.

I hope to god it isn’t incoming to NA market. Probably just because mainland china had it and a lot of them migrated to Taiwan servers.

I doubt it. Taiwan is the international server and is now the de facto Chinese server since the CN servers closed down. I see this as Blizzard just facilitating that reality somewhat.

I doubt we’ll get it, even though we should.

If you look more closely at the post, you see the TWD560? That means ingame gold costs them 560 TWD (Taiwanese Currency) which equates to $18.24 USD.

Truuu. I have no idea if that means you can exchange it for gold in game.

That’s how the token works.

Someone purchases it for money and puts it on the AH for a predetermined amount of gold.

Interesting, I had no idea.

they didn’t bring the token to US/EU when they put the token in the Chinese client, i don’t see why they’d bring it over now

Yeah, I think is is specifically to trade in your gold for time.
That’s a great gold sink for those who sit on tons of gold, regardless of how they obtained it.

Chinese Client was ran by a different group. Which is why they received Spectral Tiger’s and NA/EU didn’t.

Apparently we are now lower class citizens in a game from our own country.

Sure thing. Just send me plenty of money for the move and I’ll start packing.

If that’s how you feel, why not play with the ruleset you prefer? i.e. just roll on Taiwan servers.

Well it’s been part of the live servers for some time now, I myself like that they have tokens.

So if taiwan has the wow token what is stopping gold sellers from buying tokens and selling the gold gained on the rmt.

Are Blizzard inadvertedy fuelling the rmt market?

You’re totally free to have that opinion and I respect that. I just disagree greatly and that’s okay. I think it should stay in the live “retail” servers and not touch classic, I think Blizzard should instead spend the resources needed to fight/remove the gold sellers and botters more greatly. But thats just my opinion and desire.
