K, I just watched it. I’m actually with you on a lot of this. They answered a lot of stuff.
Having said that, they really do need to communicate better concerning shamans/SPriests. There were TONS of forums threads about Shamans and SPriests, and in all of them people were saying that their rotational overhauls would come in 8.1 as Blizzard ran out of time to fix them for 8.0. That was the expectation for months. Heck, most of the youtubers were reporting stuff along those lines.
They should’ve immediately corrected that miscommunication when they saw the clear misunderstood expectation. Not waited until 8.1 patch notes to drop and have a BUNCH of people feel let down.
As such, I do sorta hold them accountable for that concern.
I was surprised that Ion actually said they weren’t happy with the current design balance in the game and they’ve been talking about various solutions.
So they can say they communicate with their customers. And calling that crap communication pretty much sums up what is wrong with the company: They think pontificating = communicating and they don’t LISTEN to and RESPECT customers.
The current loot reward system is no more a slot machine than any previous expansion. The fact that azerite traits can invalidate upgrades is not a loot reward system issue, it is an azerite trait design system issue.
I just got a 355 with outer ring traits of reckless flurry and glory in battle, compared to the current 340 I have that has cold steel hot blood. Due to the azerite trait system, an item that is a clear upgrade in terms of item level and raw power upgrade is marginalized by bad traits. That is the only aspect of RNG in the game with loot. Is it bad, yes it is. I don’t need multiple shots at gear to hopefully get a piece of gear with the traits that are most beneficial or provide that largest bonuses. My agency as a player isn’t controlled by my ability to get loot, its limited by a system that just isn’t very good.
Should PvPers have a token system for gear if they are hard capped by rewards probably. I wouldn’t know I don’t PvP.
Players were straight up lied to. I really have no words. Not even looking forward to the next expansion. It’s obvious they don’t want to change this hideous direction.
Honest? He started with a lie. Telling us that Kul’Tiran will join due to story in 8.1.5. The truth was that they are not ready. We see Kul’tiran running around during Assaults wearing Alliance tabards. Clearly they already rejoined the Alliance. Trouble is they couldn’t be done in time and an artificial delay reason was made up out of thin air. Been Exalted for awhile and on multiple characters. Kul’Tiran and Zandalari being playable is simply too late.
Unless you race change you got to be bored out of your mind to want to level and catch up a fresh Kul’Tiran or Zandalari. Especially with the AP grind. I am sorry I just felt like we got the usual song and dance with nothing genuinely useful out of the Q&A.
I also feel like every time Lore opens his mouth it is to explain what Ion said as if we are idiots and didn’t understand what he said or even listened to him. For as short as the Q&A is I just wish Lore would read the questions and then shut up.
Blizz needs to most on over to the ESO forums, they work right with the community taking a massive amount of suggestions on board with open topics to post in. Also the nect patch notes… me the add some stuff to that game. Then if they change something theres a full write up on that one thing the reasons why the change. Ive played wow since vanilla, but damn that ESO is making a game that gamers want!!!
You couldn’t be legacy looting Legion yet, which was the original topic. You have to be at least 11 levels higher than that content and that cannot happen until 9.0 is released.
My point is there will barely be enough players around for 8.2, much less, 9.0.
I’ve picked up ESO myself. It’s a refreshing game that made me realize the depth possible from a good MMO.
WoW has moved so far from its roots its not funny. I just picked up an awesome mount today, not to mention year of the dragon and new xpac is launching in June! It looks sick
Sorry blizz, been a paying fan since BC but with the state of the game today and your blatant lack of desire to fix anything, you’ll be lucky if I even log in by 8.2… as it stands, I will not be renewing my Sub
This Q&A should have just been renamed WoW Replay, as all they did was repeat everything they had already told us. There really wasn’t any new info, or not enough to justify this Q&A…
“This thing, that you’re all so unhappy about…that we’re the cause of? Well, truth be told, WE’RE unhappy about it too! So, we’re totally working on making it right, so bear with us, because we already are hard at work on a ton of solutions to this problem we created!”
The purpose is twofold:
A) To sound non confrontational, yet dismiss/disarm criticism because “wow, they don’t like it either! (hold breath and hope no one notices/remembers they caused the problem to begin with).”
B) To kick the can down the road as long as possible (next release seems to be the goal) “because the ‘right solution(s)’ could take time, and we don’t want to make you or us any more unhappy about this situation than we all already are.”
Sounds confusing? It’s meant to be. Pure doublespeak.
It’s so good, the ministry of truth could have written it. Sadly, it’s why a lawyer is doing the Q&A. The day they get serious about these, you’ll see someone who isn’t trying to out politician a politician for the definition of what “is” is hosting one.
Rate they’re going with MM over Legion and BfA if they don’t do any real fixes next expac they might just kill off the desire of any mm hunter to want to continue playing the game
