WoW subscription/game time question

I have a friend who did the WoW trial and is wanting to play more. Do I have to buy War Within for her to play past 10 or can I gift her game time or buy DragonFlight or what are the options to see if it sticks?

You don’t have to preorder War Within, you can simply have them subscribe to be able to level up to at least 60

If her trial account is less than 2 weeks old, you can still send her a Recruit a Friend request too!

If she is on trial, she should be able to get to level 20.

Simply buying game time gets her up to level 60 and all the content in the game, except the most recent expansion, which is Dragonflight (so no level 60-70 or Dragon Isles with just a subscription).

To go past 60 to level 70, she needs to buy an expansion, either Dragonflight or War Within (which incudes Dragonflight).

Without a sale (like the 40% off DF that was running recently for a while), the latter option of buying War Within is likely the better choice, basically buying it at the base level (she could upgrade it later to heroic or epic for the extras, if she wants). But I would suggest she not buy more than just a subscription now until she gets up to level 60, to ensure she wants to spend that extra money and still wants to keep going.

And definitely try to RAF her, if it’s not too late. Lots of benefits for you both. You can generate a RAF code to send to her email in game via the social menu (friends list, etc., default O).
