WoW Source Code Turns One Million

Congrats, WoW team!

Can you put in the 1,000,001 change code to revert the GCD changes?

You can’t say you’ve hit such a milestone and not tell us what it was! :stuck_out_tongue:

Congrats to the team on this milestone!

Yeah? How’s the pay? Competitive with other software companies? Competitive with other game companies?

Do they pay you enough to live off of comfortably?

Gratz on the Mega Commit mark Blizzard … looking forward to the Mibi Commit mark celebrations coming up.

They pay, probably not a lot though.

If Blizzard moved to a different state and kept the same pay, unloaded the burden of a few ceo’s, they’d be very much better off.

All of the employees, the owners, etc… They’d all do so much better, especially now since there’s some really good deals to moving/relocating.

Low pay relative to expenses sadly comes with living in CA.

6 figures is considered low pay where I live in San Diego.

My smart brain immediately thought that the source code turned one million years old…

I’d like to know many lines of C++ code WoW has.

This. The idea that these gaming companies need to be in California is just big dumb.

This is why i never feel bad for them, they want this, for that honor points.

Congratulations! That’s an incredible amount of work.

All I’m saying is that Blizzard isn’t paying people enough for the work they do. Bobby gets Mil$ raises when every1 else is lucky to make an extra $. I’m not a socialist or anything but CEO’s make too much money in current day America.

Also this whole announcement is pure propaganda to make them look like they “care” about their workers.

Can the WoW team provide some changes for resto shaman in Shadowlands please.

That would be impossible. There have been hundreds of thousands of stealth changes with no documentation made.

Although this does explain why Blizzard has cared less about polish for the past few years, trying to exploit more bugfixes out of their workers for some fancy milestone number to impress their stockholders.

Mega-Commit, more like Mega-Yikes.

I just saw it as a fun fact type of post. I didn’t think it was a propaganda piece because I’m not thinking about how much their employees make.
