So I was playing wow SoD and I was running a BFD level up raid. Our raid leader was a mage and some point in the raid he swapped the loot to master looter. Once we got to Kelris, we downed him easy and luckily the epic staff dropped! The raid lead rolled off the staff in chat with master looter still on, and I won the roll with an 86! However, the raid lead looted himself the staff, hearth’d , then logged off so people in the raid would have a hard time reporting him. There were no rules put in place by the raiders or raid lead before the raid (nothing was reserved) yet the raid leader ninja looted the staff.
Me and the other raiders all reported him and opened ticket with blizzard. What happens next? Will I be able to get the staff given to me? Will the ninja looter lose the staff or get a suspension? How can I submit my screenshot to blizzard?
This is my first forums post so apologies if I’m doing this wrong.
They might be suspended and have the staff taken from them if enough people reported them. You will probably not be given the staff.

As long as action is taken I’ll be happy. Apparently thins player has a history of doing this according to one of his old guilds

Did no one notice or care that what was group loot suddenly changed to ML ?
I can’t speak for the others, but I did not notice it. It happened mid raid, and the loot threshold was set to rare, so all the greens got looted out to the raid.
In that case, there was no “ninja” looting.

Lol, now I mean ppl saying form your own raid. I was complaint about loot system. And a lot of ppl laughed at me and told me to make my own raid. I was like yeah but that dosent help if I lost a roll. But now I fully understood how this ppl operate
Nothing will happen bro. It was your fault for not calling out the sudden loot change and refusing to clear. “Get good noob”
I think I was also in that raid and I also felt like something should be done. But it wasn’t about this ‘ninja’ looting. The person who had the highest roll on the epic staff was a warrior. The second highest was a feral druid. It was made very clear that it was mainspec>offspec. This was made clear when the raid was taken off group loot after the second boss because everyone was needing on gear they clearly couldn’t use. The excuse “I NEED gold” was said many times, after cloth wearers needed on leather and a hunter won the turtle shell shield loot was changed to master and the rules were definitely stated.
The behaviour and attitude of the people needing seemed really familiar to me because I healed a raid a couple months ago and there was a group of players that were trolling exactly like this. The other healer and I left when it was put on master loot before kelris because everyone in the guild kept /laughing at us when we asked if they would respect the rolls(final straw after pulling bosses and laughing after we said oom and other intentional nuisances). After I left I was wsped by one of these trolls saying “everyone on my twitch stream is laughing at you for leaving etc.etc.” These personal messages continued for sometime.
I’m fairly certain that a small group of players, in their own guild, join BFD pugs to purposefully annoy, and further harrass, anyone they identify as an amusing target. I believe the groups of players trolling in that raid and this one OP is referring to are the same players because I regonized specific jokes and tactics. Not to mention the degree of “joking” in normal pugs is never so destructive and to such a ridiculous degree. I could be wrong, but a paladin who only gives might to magic users and wisdom to warriors, or a hunter that needs on shields while talking about their twitch stream hating people in the raid, makes me believe these two groups are one in the same.
Now its important to note that the leader did not ‘ninja loot’ in my opinion. Some might say “give it the feral”, or even “give it to the warrior”. But after group loot was made such a mess, by a few individuals with the same raid tabard; the loot rules were very clearly defined as MS>OS, master loot. Even with the added instruction to state your mainspec if you werent currently playing that role (which I remember clearly because I was playing as my offspec so I wanted better roles for my mainspec). The loot rules were stated and followed, in my opinion. The story is not what OP would have people believe.
I will say the leader messed up by feeding into these trolls. It was very obvious that these individuals were attempting to create chaos and annoy the raid as much as possible. If trolls like this are getting to you just leave, thats what I did a couple months ago. You make yourself a target when you engage with the trolls. But Imwilling to speak up now because its not right trying to get someones account suspended as a prank. Thats real world money. Purposfully trolling and throwing a BFD for cheap twitch content, ruining peoples weekly attempt at BFD, is really not cool. But its just a game. However what OP is talking about here is real money, and maybe some sentimental value. So if this was the same guild, and im pretty sure it is, and you’re one of the guys in that guild, I dont want to just sit by and watch you continue to lie. After leaving I could see you all were spamming LFG for the hour following saying “He sent a video to me vendoring that staff”. Meanwhile he’s standing right next to me in the bank in SW with the staff on his back. I really don’t believe you “talked to his old guild” as you claim. Even people in LFG were calling BS as the claims became more outlandish and hilariously contradictory.
Clearly these guys have been allowed to go too far if theyre now doing more than just sending mail and wsps and ‘leerot jenkins’ing mobs. Personally I dont think this was a ninja loot at all, I wouldnt trust much coming from people like ths. But even if you disagree, there’s clearly much more to the story than OP would have people believe. The bigger issue here is a group of people trolling raid pugs to this degree.I think they’re identifying good targets by messing with people in pugs; then they harass them in a coordinated way even after the raid is over. Clearly there is now some attempt to get people suspended; just for laughs on discord or whatever vendetta motivates your average dishonest troll. If there should be any intervention by blizzard it should be on this group of players who have clearly been allowed to grow worse over the past few months. Im sorry if im confusing OP for the players i witnessed in my BFD the other day and two months ago. But im fairly certain this was the same group, the same guild, and the story above leads me to believe OP is a part of this guild known for this type of worsening behavior.
Ultimately I would agree with the posters above that people should just learn from it and move on. Don’t engage the trolls, and dont go along with a raid if you’re really not clear on the loot system. (that was pretty clear tho, at least to me). If you already put it one ticket you and others should probably stop spamming trade chat. I could see you beefin with him just the other day still.
TLDR, a warrior and a feral druid did roll higher, but the loot rules of MS>OS were made clear, and gear went to the highest rolling mainspec caster. The problem I witnessed was a small group of individuals harassing and annoying PUGs every lockout. Identify “entertaining” targets, for future ridicule. For the purpose of providing entertainment to themselves and their supposed onlookers in their discord group or livestream. They can be seen spamming forums and trade chat with many easily debunked lies meant to annoy and harass people they considered easy targets. They tried targetting me several months ago for leaving and the private messages went on for a few days, coming from a dozen different toons. (did stop when ignored though
