Hey so I have a question that might sound really stupid, but it’s for a video I’m doing. How does the skybox in WoW work? I’m trying to capture a specific night time color sky with the moon in a specific spot for a video and I can never seem to find it at the right time. I can find the sky the right color and the moon in the wrong spot, or vice versa, moon in the right spot but sky a different color. So does anyone know how this works and can explain it to me??? Like what times do the sky change to a different color?
The main sky color I’m trying to get is that one where it’s just pitch black like our IRL night sky, but I’m trying to get that color with the moon in a specific spot just out in front of me where I only have to tilt my camera backwards just a slight bit. I’m trying to record this in Stranglethorn Vale on the beach.
Trust me, I already know that I sound like a complete nut asking this question.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that this is on Wrath Classic, so I don’t have access to the Inky Black Potion
Final Edit: I found out how it worked. So in case anyone read this and actually started wondering for themselves, let me explain. So the skybox color, you know like day, evening and night, changes based on the time of day obviously. However, if you enter an instance like I did when I entered the battle for wintergrasp, the skybox color can sometimes change. I logged out and back in and it swapped from the evening one to the night one like it was supposed to be. From there I watched and the moon actually moves in intervals, if you watch, you’ll see that it moves in skips just about every minute. The clouds also work the same way, however they function similar to IRL clouds and they’re basically always moving, but at 2-3 fps. So that’s a beautiful thing I learned today and I wonder if anyone is gonna go sky watching in WoW after this.
