I hate cool-downs. Specially global cool-downs. Cool-downs were an effort for early game developers to create a similar effect as the turn based game-play of the early isometric rpg games. Which in turn, were an attempt to mimic the rpg table top mechanics to simulate the incantation of spells by casters.
While this worked for those early rpg games. And worked for early Wow. At the stage that Wow is now, at the speed of game-play in modern Wow. It is just a tremendous waste of time. And in certain situations it can prove frustrating to have to watch a bunch of mobs beating you up while you wait to cast a spell or ability.
In a party of 5 players. It is the norm to be facing off a against a horde of mobs. These enemies for one thing don’t have cool-downs like the players do. Most attack with melee.
And in mass.
While having to wait to cast spells in DnD, while a group of friends sit around the kitchen table was fine. In modern mmorpgs it should not be a mechanic. Modern Wow battles run at the speed of Call of Duty fights.
Bliz should recognize that Wow is now a full action rpg.

I’m with you on this. Mana, rage and combo points are already power limiters… use those. Combat will feel more fluid.

I thought this was a dress up game?

love having community council members being out of touch with the actual game

Not like this would cause any balancing problems or anything.

Rogue stuns should last indefinitely, it’s much easier to PvP when people can’t fight back.

Sounds good – I’ll just cast Divine Hymn and Halo back to back.

I think divine shield should be a passive.

I disagree. To me cd’s often mean interesting tricks to a class/spec, strong abilities for the ‘oh crap’ moments, or just a great oomph! feeling when you go nuclear for a bit. If you’d remove them, either things get hilariously OP, or they’d need to be cut. I think combat would quickly start to feel more stale if it’s the latter. The ebb and flow because of cd’s makes gameplay interesting imho.

Uh no? That sounds like a horrible idea, that is just asking for either A: Every class having like 3-5 buttons in total. Or B: Every class being a carbon copy of each other. Balance would be impossible with that.

You know what feels worse than mistiming a cooldown and not having it available when you really need it? Running out of your resource and having to wait for it to regen, not just being locked out of one ability, but locked out of all of them.

Eh they all are, that’s why they’re on the Community Council, they share the same problem with way too many devs. No idea what they’re talking about 90% of the time and push for changes that only hurt the game.

This would be epic, could just sit there spamming Quaking Palm on people and never let them go. <3

I think the game would play better if more spells shared cooldowns. But that would take a complete overhaul of every class kit.
A shame SOD is just retail lite in terms of combat, instead of them tryin a different direction.
CDs are a part of any good mmo.
So just bake in Beastial Wrath stat boosts into Hunter since it’ll just constantly be up anyways?
So…we just run around spamming things with no gcd? That sounds completely horrible to be honest. Everyone would just be clunking around and there would be no flow to combat at all. Maybe take a few more things off gcd but then you absolutely have to disable macros or pvp would be utterly impossible.

I value my hands, wrists, and fingers.
Keep the global cooldown.
Stop trying to speedrun carpal tunnel.
