Wow should look at Fellowship

man, I made the mistake of watching one. single. asmongold video one time(it was back around the time I was considering coming back to WoW and I was looking for information on it), and my youtube algorithm was immediately FLOODED with videos of him reacting to other people’s videos.

took me like a solid week and a half of watching…ANYTHING else, to clear him off my algorithm.

never again.

What is there for WoW to take from it?

What WoW M+ needs more than anything is to incentivize player tanks/healers in LFG. Nothing it can really copy from Fellowship to do that.

What does it have to offer for the WoW players who don’t do high end game content and those who don’t do group activity at all?

Wouldn’t consider a Greater Rift knockoff the game but carry on though.

yes. You and everyone else who loves mythic plus should all go play that game and let us continue enjoying World of Warcraft. We wish you all the best and we have even packed you a sandwich. :green_heart:

I was so happy when I found out how to get You Tube to stop recommending his channel. I have not seen that … image… scourging my plain of vision in a long time.

It hasn’t been long enough. One of his lackeys has to spam advertise for him.

The game that’s ripped off everything should be copied by the game it’s ripping off from.

lmao.

Here are the things it does differently than WoW M+:
It is queued at every level, resulting in longer queues at both the lowest and highest levels.
You are forced to do each level in sequence on every character you play which makes the longer queues at the low end more annoying but you don’t need a keystone.
Everyone gets an item drop every run, timed or not.
There is no maintenance costs on gear repair or consumables.
Affix combo is fixed by dungeon and level, don’t like an affix combo? Do a different dungeon to advance.
Player power primarily comes from talent points that are unlocked by doing higher tiers and gems that are unlocked by endless farming for gems and gear with sockets.
There are more “routes” you can take, which generally becomes take the path with less-annoying mobs.
Only healers dispel, only tank and DPS interrupt, personal sustain on DPS is weak but healers still spend most of the time DPSing and play more like FFXIV.
Utility like Bloodlust and battle rez are tied to gear drops that only start dropping in the +10 30-minute dungeons, which the same slots are used for a long-CD self heal or an on-use trinket and also are in the expanding loot pool which means more farming.

So for the most part, the only things that is universally better is the no cost for dying because everything else is a trade-off of “You get this BUT…”

Pfft, comparing the two games. WoW is still a vastly better game.

I’m sure whatever part of it is a hit the wow team will do their own version of.

I only watched a little bit of stream of it but it looked pretty boring combat wise.

I’m not too surprised. The devs are incredibly obviously current or VERY recent WoW Players.

alright good luck over there.

i played it for an hour as a tank and all i had were dps trying to pull for me constantly and afk healers that kept getting pulled by the siren boss

I have nothing to offer here except that I’m disappointed this isn’t an LOTR talk. Xal is a hobbit fan.
po-tay-TOES!!!

I keep seeing “fellowship” and at first, I thought they were talking about Lord of the Rings mmo. I went to their website to see if something changed.

The devs for fellowship are high end wow players and they even said that they do not intend to dethrone wow but to compliment it during its down time IE gap week or end of seasons . This was proven with its play test lasting until s2 of TWW starting

I feel like Fellowship is going to fall into the same trap that Wildstar fell into, which is that they are appealing to an incredibly tiny number of WoW specific players who only want to do one thing: Mythic Plus.

The reality is, there are not that many people who only want to do keys all the time. In fact I can think of two players I know personally who, despite having achieved title every single season on the same character, do practically everything in this game. They are mount collectors, achievement hunters, raiders, and pvpers. They just also do high keys.

Wildstar kind of ran into the same problem, which is that they listened to an incredibly tiny section of the 2010-2014 WoW playerbase who were clamoring for the return of the glory days of difficult, 40 man raids. Wildstar delivered exactly what those players said they wanted, and no one played it. Because as it turns out, the amount of people who actually want that content are very few in number.

I hope it does well, but I’m not convinced it’s going to be something we’re all talking about in 2 years.

I’ll be checking it out when it’s released and I’ve shared it with my friends who won’t get into mmos.

A healthy competition is good thing.
