New engine, new perspective, new everything… I would love to see the WoW we know and love thrust into more modern times.

A WoW 2 that combines the old world philosophy of classic with cutting-edge modern tech would be, in a word, lethal.

They can turn BFA+ into a mobile game (it basically already is). Keep Classic. Develop WoW 2 (hopefully learning from mistakes made in expansions).

Wildstar is the closest thing to a sequel. idk if people still play it, I never did.

Ok, Mr Snarkypants. The first person with an idea or suggestion doesn’t get to own that idea or suggestion, unless this is the real world with patents and crap, but the WoW forums aren’t the real world. I get it, this is the Generation of Snarks where people just love to complain, so you’re just doin’ your thing.

While I’d love to see a [current year] version of the Warcraft IP that I know and love, I’m not sure it’s possible; the guys who made Warcraft what it was (Metzen, Samwise, Chilton, Kaplan, Pardo, etc.) are all retired, moved on, or integral to other IPs like Overwatch.

Maybe though. It’s good to dream. :slight_smile:

Playing in the stress test, and then playing retail (because I’m bored and subbed), it seems like retail already IS WoW 2. So, it should really be WoW 3 we’re after. I’d love to see combat updated to a Guild Wars 2 type style where you don’t need to target anything to attack. You can just swing your sword at the air or launch fireballs into bushes, or dodge these attacks if they’re coming from the other side.

I would be curious if some share this but I have absolutely no interest in going into BFA or any expansions after. I tried Legion and stayed may be 2 months before quitting again.
I almost disliked every part of the game (transmog, legendaries, RNG loot, LFR/LFG, Classes, PvP, Dailys and on and on.). I don’t think it will be ever corrected in any coming expansion.

But if a new WoW, based on Classic mechanics or philosophy, would be developed I would be interested however.

there is another mmo in development right now and it’s not in warcraft universe. i can’t say whether the project will actually go live as a lot of games get abandoned, but they have no intention of making a wow 2 until wow 1 is on its death bed, and given the amount of expansions they have planned for wow 1 and how successful it still is, it won’t be for a long long time.

Saw a YouTube of wow zone in unreal engine. That’d be awesome

It would be better to just nuke Azeroth and have it where we barely escape through a portal to another world. They are going to eventually run out of places to stick previously unmapped islands.
