WoW running in the background

I have not been on in a while and now when I try to log on it opens WoW retail as a background process rather than an app. The weird thing is that WoW Classic runs no problem I don’t understand what is going on or how to fix it any help would be greatly appreciated

Try rebooting your computer, It fixed it for me.

I have tried everything I can think of but I still haven’t figured it out yet rebooting didn’t work running all of the trouble shooting processes suggested by blizz didn’t work even my wife wo works IT had no clue

Let’s reinstall Battle.net.

Step 5 is important - delete that tools folder

You may have done this. If you haven’t played in awhile I would also run a full UI reset.
