Blizzard really started shifting their quest designs starting around BFA. Previous expansions usually had you go to a quest hub, take & finish quest, turn it in, and then get new quests from the same hub a lot of times in the same area. The modern design is you almost always shift to a different location or the finale of the quest it to kill a mini-boss.
The world quests are way less time consuming than the ones we had at the start of Shadowlands. A lot of them take less than a minute. The ones we had in Shadowlands took 5-15 minutes.
Also, there’s a crap load of content to do once you reach max level in Dragonflights. You’re looking at another 6-10 hours just to finish every quest in every zone.
Shadowlands never had that. Everything was time gated by renown.
