I was wondering why the heck my computer is full and then I see that PTR is updating. I don’t want to download PTR! It’s too big but I can’t seem to find a way to uninstall it! It’s not showing up in my control panel!
Are you positive it’s the PTR and not 8.1 pre-downloading? It’s a 16 GB patch, so…

Hmm…it just said PTR. Atleast that’s what he downloading bar was when I tabbed to it. It might be 8.1 also. I’m not sure.
Should be able to uninstall it by going in settings and then apps in your windows. Am not good at exactly describing but its in windows settings under apps where you can uninstall it.
Can always poke the folks at Tech Support.
I believe there is a setting in your launcher that allows you to select not updating the PTR or even installing it. Once you uninstall it you will need to manually re-install it for it to maintain being updated.
So basically just uninstall it in Windows

go to battlenet app. Change Region/Account to ptr.
If it says install, its not installed.
If it says update. Its installed and you want to uninstall it using the tradition windows method. If it actually updating then stop it first.
It says Update. So it’s installed. But it’s not showing up in my files. Just regular WoW.
Check under the WoW folder and see if there is an _ ptr _ folder. The different versions are being merged in 8.1.
