Wow Professions

I think it would be cool if Blizzard made professionals skill based. For example a blacksmith would need to actually man a forge maintain heat and working the metal in a type of mini game like environment. As your skill goes up the threshold for failure shrinks and becomes easier. This would go for gathering professions as well, your knowledge of herbs when picking and processing can render you more supplies and ore.

So sort of like Skyrim?

okay but only if they add an OBR feature for it

I think you should need a physical forge and anvil, with Bluetooth connection for the most immersion. Bang steel and craft weapons in real life to skill up in game.

As someone who has one of each proof totally maxed in all expansions, so obviously loves crafting- no thanks. As a create, I don’t want to spend multiple minutes on each item I make. Especially when mass producing items. As a buyer, if I’m paying for a sword I don’t want the quality of the result to be based on how for a crafter I found. I want to be able to assume max quality. And if this happened, expect the number of crafters to drop due to the effort it takes, which would cause prices to at least double. This is just a bad idea and not fun for anyone

No, you need Bluetooth for the most miserable wireless connection. That way, sometimes it drops connection and your hits don’t register, but the repetitive stress injury your wrists are developing still count it. It needs to be very immersive and skill based. You didn’t let up when the connection dropped intermittently? Too bad wrists.

So basically like FF14?

I guess mining and skinning could have “sweet spots” to aim for.

How would herbalism work, pick the herb at the right angle, or from the root instead of breaking it?

I get that but it would not be like retail. I am talking in wow forever. Maybe the create shops instance that people can purchase in major cities? I just feel this would cripple bot farmers.

it would not. they’d adapt within hours, or days at most.

OBR? I don’t know what this is

Think you responded to the wrong person.

Pyri brought up OBR.

One Button Rotation. I think they were joking.

one button rotation, so we can still create good stuff with our professions without all that pesky button pressing!

Then post in the forever forums. This is retail.

Yeah that would make too much sense and so it would never happen

Oh, first time posting in a forum… sorry

This is already the case. Otherwise the concept sounds terrible and likely unworkable. No offense. :stuck_out_tongue:

Honestly I’m getting a little annoyed with Mining right now. My Blacksmithing Spec trees are almost full, but the points for Mining are being fed to me from a baby spoon. Do I have to devote my entire time to mining ore looking for those little skill stones?
