What are you enjoying about the game right now?

What are your favorite things about the expac?

(Is Kirsy a corporate shill for posting this?)

Enjoying housing, but still farming up decor and frankly, ideas. I’ve played Norman for so long, that the ideas come much easier than they do on my deader. However, I really want to build up the house on the deader. Main problem, not enough decor I want for him and I don’t like “gold” and so much is NOT DYEABLE.

Beyond frustrating to find a piece you like, only to be stuck with color you do not. Where’s muh freedom?

Took part in Abyssal Anglers this morning and am really enjoying that, but would like way more in the rewards department. Always bothers me when there are more achieves for a little side event, than there are rewards. There’s probably 50 Abyssal achieves you can get and only a handful of rewards.

I still have not managed to run all the delves, but I haven’t found one I didn’t like yet. TWW had me at three total enjoyable delves and running them over and over fried my brain quick. Enjoying delves more, now that I have more delves to run.

They balanced the dungeon follower disaster, so I’m enjoying that.

I feel like the housing has made the game more social for me than it has been in years so that is high on the list of enjoyable.

Favorite is the housing. I knew it would be, hands down. There is much for them to do and add, but it’s a great starting place.

I do not believe you are a shill. I think you are looking to get people more engaged and should be supported for that.

Housing, the fact that between Dailies, Prey, Delves, there’s a good balance of content to achieve without drowning in ‘must do or fail’ things in WoW, although I have yet to try the new Void Invasions. Invoidasions? They might throw things off.

Housing, definitely. It is such a fun thing and I can leave it and come back to it at will without ‘failing’ or being at a loss compared to other players. It is a nice little itch to scratch when and where I feel like it.

I was nearly about to get on my knees and apologise to Brann for all the :poop: I was talking about him in the expansion before, but Valeera has gotten significantly better about her weird Ghost Trauma Stand ability and doesn’t pop it every thirty seconds now in Delves, but she’s still a butt about it periodically. Delve mechanics have vastly improved from The War Within and I appreciate Blizzard for adding design to the Delves that makes each run different, in terms of lay-out and enemies, based on what ‘version’ of the Delve you get.

Prey. Prey. Prey. I love how this creates a sense of danger in Open World Content that is engaging but not crushing, that you can be in the middle of a fight and Oh :poop: it’s a dangerous mob with a steel chair! decides to happen. Getting jumped but it not being an immediate curb-stomping if you’re aware and awake enough to counter it and move is nice, and that we got it without Blizzard needing to immediately defang the system because some try-hard with nature’s cruelest handicap back at Blizz HQ needed to make something unnecessarily punishing or they could live with themselves.

Silvermoon City is Amazing and I will fite er’ybody if they disagree. The layout is intelligent without being nightmarishly confusing, it speaks of the Sin’dorei cultural aesthetics without needing to cudgel you in the face how different they are to their allies, how proud the Sin’dorei are of their heritage without being relentlessly stupid or trite about it, and how far they’ve come from the devastation that the Scourge, the Alliance’s betrayal of their people, Prince Kael’thas’s fall to corruption and betrayal of their people, and the price of siding with the Horde just to survive.

Housing is a delight and while there’s parts of the system that irk me to no end, Blizzard is moving in on those things with a speed I have never seen them use outside of horrendously massive issues in the past right as their quarterlies were about to go public.

But mostly, the Amani. We’re tackling a former enemy race and culture with dignity and respect without it being “Oh we were bad but you showed up and saved us with your loot-goblining and endless capacity for bloodshed and murder! We’ll now be Good Bois and Gracious Goils in your honor!” or some variation of such. They’re not immediate bested buds with the Sin’dorei but they are willing to stop the fighting, at least so long as the Void is menacing both sides, and with Liadrin embedded in the new Amani leadership role and having insight into the Amani culture and religion, we might see the Sin’dorei actually pull their ears out of their orifices and the Amani tone down their WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH long enough to talk about their issues and try to work something out that isn’t immediately crushing to one side or the other.

You’re fine. Look upon the absolute :dracthyr_a1: :cow: :dracthyr_no2: I throw at the forums whenever the voices get too loud and see the true face of WoW-Brained Madness.

Loving Housing over all.

I like the delves and follower dungeons.

I like that after I hit max level - I still had things to do - new things to do! It wasn’t hit 80 start the grind. I”m saying that the grind has been removed. But I am in the stage where the grind is optional. There are things I can do and engage with, so every day isn’t the same old same old.

And I am surprised that I don’t hate the Prey the system.

I am enjoying leveling up my characters mostly. Delves have been a lot of fun for me, and I also really enjoy the Prey system. Some of the world quests have been enjoyable and being able to easily acquire catchup gear has been great!

Outside of what I am enjoying about the game right now, my favorite things have been having new areas the explore and seeing Silvermoon City and the surrounding map get a “glow up”.

I share Norman’s sentiment.

Leveling and gearing alts continues to become easier and easier, and I feel like I’m going to be able to play a lot of characters across the board, especially now that you can catch up on myth gear in 10s now with voidcores.

Prey is fun, delves are still chill, Amani good, and there’s a chance that Alleria and Turalyon are dead so that makes me happy.

Every spec of paladin feels sexy. Transmog is good, so uh… yeah, so far so good. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again here: as long as an expansion doesn’t get as bad as Warlords, I’ll be happy. BfA and SL have nothing on WoD’s levels of bad.

Maaage. I have never felt this powerful before.

Although auto-icicles getting removed is a bummer.

Oh yeah, and back-sheathing is… sexy.

Both delves and Prey were long time coming. Why it took Blizzard 20 years to have solo content that wasn’t just terrible dailies and rep grinding, I have no idea, but I am very happy with both of those systems going forward.

Probably because dorks on the forums would be saying “BuT iT’s aN OnLiNe gAmE, MuLtIpLaYeR GAME!!! gO pLaY aNoThEr gAmE fOr SoLo cOnTeNt!!!” and would moan about anything resembling something you could do on your own. No idea why these losers think you can’t have the best of both worlds, but I remember that for a long while there were these familiar talking tracks that would pop up constantly anytime the conversation turned to people wanting more solo content.

Maybe it was a reminder of how alone they are IRL. :person_shrugging:

What is your take on arcane? I gave it a try and perhaps im just doing it wrong, but fire seems so much more direct and impactful.

TLDR: In my opinion, Arcane seems to have really good burst damage but seems very basic tier with regards to its toolkit. It’s a bit high in mana consumption during prolonged fights when compared to Fire or Frost unless you added a point in Evocation. I love Arcane, but it doesn’t quite seem to reciprocate.

LONG VERSION:

I only have 2 mages, and neither have hit mid-level yet. The other week, I hit level 82 with both mages, one in Frost spec with Spellslinger, while the other in Fire spec with Frostfire.

After reading your post, I decided to take one of the mages out for a stroll in Arcane to see if it feels any better than I last remember it. I dinged 2 more levels and now have one mage at 84 using Arcane. I tested out both Spellslinger and Sunfury.

Arcane Sunfury just seemed lacking any impressiveness outside of the meteorite visual. Even with the talent to bump the meteorite damage up by 15%, it still lacked sufficient damage to be truly impressive. Especially if you’re on casting while moving, which will cause the mobs to simply move out of the damage radius.

Arcane Spellslinger definitely seems truer to form but overall, it just feels…basic to me. Don’t get me wrong, with a slight bit of preparation, I can certainly pump out some burst damage in a short amount of time and just annihilate my enemies, but to me it just feels like it is lacking true identity when compared to Fire or Frost.

Fire pumps out some impressive damage, has decent defense, and good mobility. Fire also has a decent mana consumption rate, making it a really good spec and I have a lot of fun with it.

Frost has great defense, really good damage, and the fact it slows down your enemies while you continue to tear them apart, has always made this a viable spec for any situation. Frost has an extremely good mana consumption rate, making this a great spec for long and continuous battles.

Then there’s Arcane. Their shield when compared to Frost or Fire doesn’t seem as strong. From a development perspective, I imagine the lack of defense or decent mobility balances out the high burst damage it’s capable of dishing out.

I mean, it DOES have mobility, but I also want to say it’s had better mobility in the past. I would have loved to have seen Arcane Blast cause an AOE Slow for a short time, rather than having Slow removed outright. This would provide better CC not unlike the Chilled effect from Frostbolt.

As odd as it may sound, I’d rather have fun spells that did zigzag damage (alternating high-low-high-low damage) across the board and had better mana consumption, rather than burst damage spells with a higher mana consumption, but that’s just me. I realize Arcane was probably also meant to be the more challenging of the three in terms of resource management, keeping your eyes on the cooldowns and managing your builders and spenders efficiently, but to that I throw up my hands Ed Bassmaster style and go, “Psshh”. I just want to have fun with it like I have fun with Fire and Frost.

The spec is currently a little Arcane Orb crazy though because I can chain a row of those suckers together for a path of devastation. I love watching enemies fall over dead, but the orb spam doesn’t look impressive, it just looks…extra.

Okay, this took a few hours longer than I expected, so I’mma stop myself now. :face_exhaling:

I can’t play retail for more than an hour before my PC overheats but guess what version of WoW doesn’t Chernobyl my PC, that’s right, classic.

Was dabbling a bit in classic the other day and honestly my favorite thing to do is fish on my rogue(s). I really enjoy fishing in this game, just vibing to the ambience and music is my cozy comfort game.

Just sitting back and slowing down to enjoy the setting and world is the best part of this game. Even in the stinker expansions, it’s always fun to wander around and see what things you can find.

That is horrible and I’m sorry to hear that!

Fortunately, my system doesn’t overheat, but when I run WoW, there is a significantly noticeable rise in room temperature, even with 12 fans and a water-cooled CPU.

Before someone begins to wonder, yes, the fans are pointed in the right directions too.

I learned this valuable lesson while testing Everquest Landmark by Daybreak Games. After a while playing, my PC began overheating and shutting down. After a little T&E, I found some of my case fans were turned the wrong way…oops!

Spectrum Internet tricked me with faster speeds, now I’m stuck in purgatory.

Sorry, I saw an opening and took it. I have personal beef with that company, LOL!

For what it’s worth, 13 years is a good run and I’m enjoying building a new PC just not enjoying the AI hype prices. :dracthyr_lulmao:

I plan to convert my current PC into a media center because otherwise it’s fine if I don’t play any sorta modern 3D game. That’s why classic is fair game lol

13 years is a great run in my book. My “old pc” is one I built is 2017. The only reason I ever upgraded to what I’m currently using is because the mobo/cpu wasn’t “Win11 friendly”.

On a completely unrelated note, I wondered what it would be like to play Doom Forever music while getting in a couple of levels on another character.

I don’t believe I have ever picked herbs so aggressively in WoW before until now.

I’ve been enjoying how warlock feels this expansion between destro and demo. I’ve been using demo a lot more, though, despite my desire to use my green fire.

The Prey system remains my #1 loved feature in Midnight.
