For some reason, the game decides to override my system volume when I mute the system. When I alt+tab out and mute and go back to the game and it is still playing the music and all other audio sounds.
Have you turned off the sound in the game? go to that Red question mark in the toolbar, click on System in the menu, than click on Sound, and Uncheck the box for sound, that should silence the game. I mostly have my sound turned off when I am in a Voice program with someone else. My computer sounds work for the Ventrilo Voice program, but the Game sounds are muted. Let me know if this works for you.
I did that but that is not the solution. I mean yes, there is no sound in the game now.
But let me explain my situation more clearly: I have a dual monitor set up. Main monitor running WoW and second runs chrome atm. When I’m on the second monitor I mute the system sound all together. As soon as I go back to the main monitor (click anywhere in WoW) the system volume goes back up. It doesn’t matter if in WoW settings I have sounds on or off, that just affects the game sounds. Yes I can play WoW muted this way but it’s not supposed to override the whole system settings.

I hope you got your sound thing fixed. One more thing I thought you could check is to make sure when your adjusting your Game settings that you have the correct monitor listed in the game settings. Can you select the main monitor and adjust settings, and then select the 2nd monitor and see if you can adjust the settings independantly this way. Not sure since I only have 1 monitor hooked up now.
