Does the game support controller without any additional software?
It will soon! In Shadowlands we’re getting controller support. Until then, we have a mod that you can bind keybinds input within your controller. It’s neat, but not for me. If the shadowlands version worked something like Final fantasy 14, I’m sure it would be viable.

Not ideal for raiding 
Keyboards are cheaper to replace than controllers.
Not being familiar with game controllers in general.
Along with damage spells, where are the buttons for my healing spells on my Priests?
I think a controller would be very limited.
Haven’t fully figured out “placed” spells but for melee using the add-on has changed wow for me. For casual content its so fun!

From what I have seen healing is possible but requires quite a bit more work to bind properly.
How does it perform for raiding, especially at a high level?
I’ll at the very least give the controller support a try once… but I’ll probably stick to Kb&M
No WAY! Where did you hear this?? This is great news, playing WoW on my laptop or in bed, or on the couch, etc… I’ve used ConsolePort and played with a controller before but it’s a hassle maintaining and updating that.
I love my keyboard/mouse combo. There are just some games that feel more comfortable with a controller.
I played Diablo 3 on PC first and got used to it. I was skeptical about the console release but it was very well done and felt natural.
Being able to sit back, kick your feet up and play WoW on a huge 4K TV sounds very appealing.

Honestly I’m not surprised. Starcraft and Diablo have had the support for a long time.

Did Starcraft on PC have controller support? Whenever I think of that, I think of the Nintendo 64 release, which I’ve not tried but can’t imagine it being good… but I could be wrong.
you just set keybinds to the controller buttons within the game. any official console controller will work with windows, especially the xbox ones. knockoffs that require third party software are just malware packages anyway.
I think so after the recent re-release with the funny graphics. Haven’t touched it in months.

Yea it’s pretty enjoyable. I wouldn’t do end game or rated pvp with it, but for chill dailies and questing. sure why not
Can’t wait for this. Most of the time I need KB/M but sometimes I just wanna lazy farm laying on the couch or in bed.
