Wow not launching, windows application error - Looking for Guidance

I’m trying to get wow back up working with no luck so far. The issue as the tittle suggests, wow will not Launch and im not sure why. Ive gone thru the following steps without any change:

-Updated everything possible, even bios from the manufacturers website;
-Disabled all non-windows services;
-deleted wow folders and battle.net/blizzard folders;
-unninstalled/reinstalled fresh both wow and battle.net
-Restarted many times;
-Did a system restore before last windows update;

Basically have done everything except reinstall windows. I’m at a lost so looking for some guidance to resolve this issue.

Same problem. Wow retail works after patch and classic doesn’t. I have run the repair tool, deleted the battle.net folder and reinstalled. I even uninstalled wow classic and reinstalled. My anti-virus isn’t quarantining anything. restarted PC several times. etc.

I am experiencing the same consistent issue with classic wow failing to launch the game client from the blizzard launcher.

Note:

  1. Game had been running smoothly and free of issues for the past 6 months up until the Tuesday morning update on 1/7/2020

  2. Retail continues to launch without issue

  3. This is a the same windows 10 Machine I have been using to play the game since it’s re-launch.

  4. None of my system environment conditions or network conditions have changed.

Also attempted all of the suggested trouble shooting steps listed by other players above.
Verified/Updated Drivers.
-Disabled all non-windows services;
-deleted wow folders and battle.net/blizzard folders;
-unninstalled/reinstalled fresh both wow and battle.net
-Restarted many times;
-Ran repair utility (multiple times, including after fresh installs);
-Attempted to install to a different folder/file path (just for good measure).

Well im glad and sad that im not the only one with this issue, not sure how we get it resolved cause not getting any answers here so far.

Some notes for OP.

Your Windows install is out of date, and is 2 major patches back. You’ll want to check for windows update.

As your Nvidia card is render only, Wow may be having a hard time switching to it. You’ll want to check settings to make sure it is switching to the Quadro card.

While we’re at it, in general the Quadro cards are unsupported for WoW. You may get it to work, but they aren’t cards for gaming, and official support won’t be able to help much.

IN the errors at the end of the DXDiag, you have several live kernel events that tend to be related to graphics drivers. They don’t point to a specific card, so we can’t narrow it down, but the standard advice here would be to do a clean install of your graphics drivers (intel and nvidia) using DDU and a clean download file.

Thanks so much for looking Zungar, i was having issues with the graphics updates, i cant seem to use the ones from the Intel website because they say they are not compatible… even though i use the intel compatibility tool to choose the appropriate driver. IS there a special procedure with render cards and integrated graphics when it comes to installation?

Laptops are often customized so that the manufacturer’s drivers don’t always work. You’d want to go to dell’s website and get the latest version for both the intel and nvidia graphics.

With regards to render cards, we saw one dell about a year and a half ago that just wouldn’t seem tot use the render card for wow. I don’t know if this is that case, but it does raise some flags for us to look at.

I’d start with DDU to do a clean install from dell’s downloads of the drivers, and just keep in mind that we’re playing with some unsupported pieces.

Did the DDU, still not working. Here is the new Dxdiag:

Also, shouldn’t the integrated graphics be good enough to run Classic?

Integrated should be good enough, but that doesn’t mean it likes it.
Did you use DDU to uninstall the nvidia driver and then install the nvidia driver from dell?

I’m still seeing you as a year behind on Windows 10 Updates. I’d do the updates, and then check on things.
