WoW needs to go F2P

Let’s face it, DF was rushed to save face for SL.

The content is lacking, there’s no new exciting content or feature that isn’t rehashed from before and people are already quitting in droves.

Just drop the $15 sub, you don’t put enough effort into this game to ask people for that.

Make it F2P and revive the game again.

Nope. Don’t want the F2P riffraff. That $15/mo keeps them away.

My bad Jeff Bezos, didn’t mean to offend you with the thought of peasants joining our ranks.

I’d say keep the sub, but loosen the f2p restrictions already in place.

Like, make dragonflight available, but block raiding and creation catalyst.

Who is quitting

Maybe, but it’s still a thousand times better. SL was the worst expansion IMO. Worse than WOD.

Easy mistake. Don’t worry about it. :woman_shrugging:

You’re right this was a rushed expansion or at least it feels that way to me.

I don’t get how that means the game should go free to play. I definitely don’t want to see unfettered bots. I know we have a lot of them now but that’s nothing compared what we’ll have.

Honestly if you don’t feel like the game is worth the money don’t pay them.

Worst idea ever. the subscription is what keeps this game from turning into garbage with all the microtransactions. Yea they have cosmetic stuff for cash, but nothing giving combat or power advantages.

My server actually feels like it’s surviving now, and it was dying pretty swiftly during BfA before the devs killed it off completely during SL. Safe to say that the game is doing at least a little better for itself now if it could bring a dead server like mine back to life.

That already exists via the wow token and buying carries. There’s really no difference. Who cares what other people have anyways.

Never. It would instantly die like every other F2P game out there.

Begone troll.

Seriously though… they don’t understand the cease pool the game would turn into if it did go ftp.

F2P games are expensive. WoW is almost a riffraff only product because it is so cheap. All the F2P MMOs have a comparatively very civil and muted community. WoW is proudly bottom of the market focused.

F2p won’t fix the core issues with the game

WoW also makes too much money atm to convert to f2p. No doubt they’re putting systems in place for f2p but that’s years away.

Because F2P definitely wasn’t the death knell for countless other mmo’s that tried in vain to ape wow but crashed and burned…oh wait.

We literally have entire talent trees for professions, a whole new way of FLYING, the first true method of deterministic gearing, and non-garbage transmogs. You can say some of these contents are problematic, because that true. You can say the game is bugged, because I’m currently still playtesting Darkmoon trinket for the Rogue class Discord and finding more bugs than I can count on the fingers of one hand. However, to claim that content is not there at all, that is straight-up lying. Your post loses all validity on this first statement alone.

Pretty sure the overall numbers tell the story that we have less people buying the expac but significantly higher player retention. Maybe do some research lol.

The game IS free to play for a lot of players lol. Among the bottom feeder world players there are slimeballs who play the auction house and make enough gold to support like 5 different accounts simultaneously. If you can’t tell already, I despise those people with a passion, but they factually do get the gold. Then, among the actual respectable players, there are a good number of people who were selling +20 keys 3 resets ago. Those people also make enough gold to buy a Brutosaur every month. So, if you’re having to pay, it’s literally just skill issue.

F2p revived some of those mmo though.
