Adding one battleground goes a long way to appease the pvp crowd. i believe pvp is a large portion of players main form of gameplay whether that be casual or serious. many players are casual pvpers, just as many players are casual gamers to begin with. adding just a couple of new battlegrounds would add so much to the game and create player retention. they dont even have to be made from scratch. there are so many zones in wow. i say blizzard should utilize them. any excuse to go back to old zones to make wow feel alive. all you have to do is add physical assets in any old zone and call it a battleground. new battlegrounds with different objectives would also go a long way, not just team deathmatch.
Here is a quick suggestion. Wow is based on warcraft which was an RTS. I think we need an actual Rts like battleground. honestly something simliar to league of legions would be great. something where NPC and players can come together to push their objective. this style of battleground would also support tanks and healer playstyles. As healers could not only heal players but npcs and structures, likewise with tanks. They could shield the npcs and create defensive positions or pull npc aggro.
regardless blizzard please consider adding many more battlegrounds it would go along way for the little amount of work you would have to do.

Yes. to my knowledge warfronts were not very favored by the player base. Personally, I’ve only done them a handful of times. from my memory they were pretty well polished i liked that aspect of it. but it had alot of scripted scenes that took along time. like dialog between characters. That took away alot from it. Im talking about a more condensed version in the form of a battleground. No dialog just start and go. less players preferably. Honestly i think warfronts were cool. i wouldent mind if they brought them back and converted them into battlegrounds. i do think they would need to be edited to make it a cleaner and faster version and i think it could be nice.
Another note with BFA was island expeditions, which i actually dont think are that bad either. Im not sure why the only way to que for them is to go to BFA zones. i think they could be easily converted into battlegrounds or mini battlegrounds and they would be another form of content.
This is my point though. blizzard has made so much random content over the years. all it needs is a touch up and it could be mainstream and playable again.
Let me get this straight:
- Blizzard has done the content you want
- You hardly played it because of dialogue
- Most of the people hated them (me included)
No.
Blizzard tests things and then when they realize no one likes it they scrap it. You can’t say you enjoyed the content, do one of them in 6 months and then act like they should bring it back

I think you miss my point. The content mostly is fine. But how it can work as a game or the fundamentals like the objectives inside can be changed… with some modification and experimentation we could have some real battlegrounds here.
I think this is a great idea. king of the hill would be great in WoW. and maybe even Search and destroy.

WoW needs less crappy battlegrounds. Looking at you SS and ToK.

Sounds kinda like doin sparks on a Tuesday. I’d be down for that.
The problem with team deathmatch is that it’s nearly impossible to turn the game around.
Whoever wins the first fight will snowball their advantage. The losing team will end up getting farmed at the gy.
I’ve had fun and engaging battles in every battleground. To me it’s all still fresh though. I’m trying to get every BG achievement and having this type of goal driven behavior puts a spin on each BG that makes it feel unique.
The RTS driven BG that you’re describing feels a lot like Ashran. There’s NPCs all over the place… and it’s the closest thing that feels like wc3 from a hero development point of view that’s in the game. You go to a spot… kill creeps… get artifacts… a power boost or speed boost and you go to the next spot. If you want to heal/defend the mage for positioning and lots team points you can do that.
It seems like the vast majority of the people that play Ashran view it as team fight at ROC… Zerg up the middle… complain we didn’t backdoor if things didn’t work out.
It really seemed like Warfronts had the potential to be converted to new Epic BGs. I’m surprised that here we are 2 expansions later and it still hasn’t happened.
thats what im saying. i think it could be done into a fun bg experience
