I would do this and I usually avoid doing normal dungeons.
it appears it does now - someone made a thread about a dungeon being required to progress the story campaign.
Maybe you should take note that people would rather play with bots than play with the likes of you.
Having a casual Adventure Mode for dungeons sounds kinda chill, now that I think about it. I wouldn’t even mind if they didn’t drop any loot, just for the sake of exploring a dungeon’s story without feeling threatened to fall behind.
I remember my husband telling me he was feeling a bit frustrated during the Nokhud Offensive dungeon, with multiple NPCs shouting at his ears, his party members zooming right off the gate, and him being very puzzled on what to do.
I think an Adventurer Mode would’ve helped him to ease into it slowly, before jumping into the regular version.
As much as i do like the trust system in ffxiv
I dont think it would really work in wows case since your mot really required todo dungeons as apart of the leveling experience nor the main story and mainly just do them for getting gear for max level content
That’s why most of the people I pug with are stoned and watching TV during dungeons. LOL. Don’t make WoW content more than it really is.
I’d love to play with other human beings, but I have a busy life and don’t like jumping through hoops to impress guilds so I can sit on the bench watching others have fun in the only endgame content I care about.
Solo raids sound super fun. I like the complexity of the boss fights. Few games can match the sheer combination of difficulty, complexity, and fun that I’ve had in wow raids. Now if only I didn’t have to do weekly commitments and listen to drama to do them…
Specifically in reply to exposure therapy: I love the concept here, using friendly MMO play to help alleviate anxiety, but so much of the community is ragey. People with anxiety will smell that a mile away and run.
Sastasha isn’t end game content.
I don’t see why not. Programmed bots already run through the Exiles Reach dungeon with you.
Just go to a training dummy and practice your rotation there, no need to make an entire new system for this.
My post was more leaning towards low level dungeons. I wouldn’t count on it going anywhere further than that, especially end game content like mythics. This is just my two cents on adding a feature for content that is no longer relevant.
Training dummies don’t support boss mechanics.
This is false. There are many ways to level in ffxiv. Beast tribes give xp, you can do 12 daily quests. There are hunts to do with tons of xp daily. If you don’t like running dungeons with people, squadrons exist for side content dungeons, trusts for MSQ. Also ffxiv has a ton of side quests to level alts. Ffxiv also has fates that spawn all the time in every zone that give xp. Those are soloable by everyone, except boss fates that need raids.
Trusts in ffxiv are great. I leveled them up for achievements. The purpose isn’t just for players to be solo, it’s future proofing now. WoW would be smart to implement a similar system if they continue to lock story elements behind group instanced content. I know many of you believe that WoW will always have lots of players, but it’s not likely going to be true. Eventually, players with not enough people won’t be able to progress stories in WoW. FFXIV knows tab target MMOs aren’t going to pull big subs forever.
The last thing I’d like to say is Ffxiv offers tons of group content, more than WoW. The difference is actually the type of group content is easily joined by anyone. Frontlines (battlegrounds) always 5 minute queues, crystalline conflict(arenas) same queue. Alliance raids(24 people), raids(8 people) extreme trials/ normal trials(8)people, world hunts (scales with people), dungeons, criterion dungeons (solo or scales with people), ultimates, relic area content like eureka and Bozja/Zadnor. Boss fates are also raid content.
I don’t care for WoW dungeons because all of the trash in them and having to come up with routes to get around tons of trash. In ffxiv I pull 3 packs of trash and I’m at the boss. In ffxiv I also just pull all the trash and stop, people aoe them down. I don’t run to find more trash before the pack before is dead. I spend more time killing bosses in ffxiv than trash mobs, like I feel a dungeon should be. I will say in ffxiv interrupts aren’t used much because it’s not necessary most the time in dungeon trash. Bosses maybe helpful, but doesn’t make or break a run.
Edit: I forgot to mention wondrous tales for leveling too. You can do the content on any job, then switch to the job you want to get xp before turning in your book. There is also a 100% xp bonus to alt jobs under the level your main job is.
Trust system is a really cool idea and has a lot more potential than just “do the dungeons”.
Doing content through the system could actually allow people to unlock unique cosmetics themed to the characters, story quests with them as your build up friendship, and there’s also the potential to customize the NPCs a bit too - change their model or gear and what not. (Want Cata Tyrande? Go unlock it, for example.)
The Mage Tower - Jarod’s especially - shows there’s potential in challenge style content with the feature too. Doesn’t need to just be a way for people to run normal dungeons by themselves.
And anybody who thinks the AI can’t do a normal dungeon in this game forgets how they had to nerf the comp stomp bots. Those things actually interrupt better than most random BG players.
Make it like FF , no and quit speaking for what casual should and shouldn’t have.
Like the inclusion of certain things, not all casuals are clamoring for what you all think we are. It’s a few not the many.
There’s plenty for anyone to find to do if look around.
And there is a trust system, it’s just on forums.
Apologies, what I meant to say is: If you want to level an alt job and still have the lifespan to enjoy it afterward, your only real choice is to dungeon spam.
There are a lot of pages WoW should copy from FFXIV’s rulebook, but trusts isn’t one of them.
I still don’t understand this criticism because it can similarly be applied to WoW. Dungeons are the most optimal way to level up in this game and if you’re not spamming them, your progress is severely impeded.
Nah, this is an MMO. We don’t need bad changes like that. Learn to play with other players.
There also needs to be some sort of punishment for the toxic players that get butt hurt for not timing a key and screwing everyone else by leaving right before last boss…
blocking that player is utimately useless as there are thousands of them. The wow community is dead because of group finder, at the same time its needed but the toxic attitude allowed by the GMs needs to go away for the betterment of the game
