WoW needs a Trust system like FFXIV has

I think the same.

Although for some old content, it may be needed as there are simply no players.

So you can’t win the argument based on the facts pertaining to it and just go with a childish “NO, I WIN!” response. Got it.

FFXIV Trusts don’t play “better” they are just scripted to do the mechanic right. (and sometimes fail at that)

Their dps is beans and they rubber band the better you do the worse they are.

It’s to really enforce the dungeons taking 30 minutes.

Dungeons with a competent group of people can take like 12-15 minutes. And a not so competent group can take around 20 mins.

I played for three months. I never saw people talking. Nobody was recruiting for the guilds or whatever…the gamers on FF are just as antisocial as the rest of us here…
I get it, you love the game. Heck, if their combat wasn’t so clunky I’d still be playing it…
But don’t paint a false picture for people going in. FF has just as many trolls and turds as WoW does.

Man, I wish their combat was just less…chunky? Gear-y? It makes me feel like I am manually turning the gears on Big Ben…with a toothbrush for a handle. Every spell feels like I have to shift gears in my car. It’s blocky, where WoW is fluid. Both have merits, both have flaws. One is just better for how I play.

FFXIV absolutely does not give equal attention to everything. Not neglecting does not mean equal attention.

Some extremely stark standouts to me are alt levelling (be it alt character or alt job) and the housing systems. If it gave equal attention to those as it did the story, I’d still be playing FFXIV right now.

I think you may have forgotten that WoW literally defined what an MMO was for the majority of its existence. Almost every other MMO, including FFXIV, mirrors multiple of WoW’s core systems and gameplay loops.

WoW is (was) the baseline, and yes, FFXIV does specialize in story compared to it.

play my way or be insulted…
lmao.
how about we not demean those who might want this sort of thing regardless of what you find ‘sad’.
thanks

Been playing MMOs since 2002 with EQ.

A practice mode would be great. Everyone needs practice and not having to waste anyone’s time is a plus.

This shouldn’t yield anything tbh either. Just practice mode.

I can see it now, doing dungeons with a bunch of NPCs using the ever broken pet AI…what could possibly go wrong.
Also, trust were coinvent for the socially inept like myself, but the fact that the AI adjusted they damage output based on your own so the dungeon always took roughly the same amount of time was annoying.

And they have been sucking at that for the past decade. Something needs to change.

and yet somehow I manage to play them both, ESO as well, pretty much exactly the same. by myself

The fact is that FFXIV isn’t anything else other than an MMORPG. Trying to skew it as anything else is just a blatant attempt at debunking suggestions pulled from the game to implement into WoW.

What’s your beef with these systems then?

Uh, no. Ultima defined what an MMORPG was. WoW popularized the genre, most certainly, but it didn’t define it.

Yes, a roleplaying game with multiplayer elements. I’m glad we agree.

id like it just so I can see the raids to be honest. If I want anything from them it’d be mogs and crap. My gear is good enough.

Im not sure what purpsoe Trusts would have in WoW, as none of the dungeons are required.

Lock levels and progression behind the dungeon quests and then ill be singing a different tune.

As someone that realizes how dumb people are and would be perfectly happy on an island alone without anyone else… I can see why people don’t want to rely on these other idiots for their gameplay fix.

Alt levelling is horrendously slow and clunky.

If you want to level an alt job, you don’t get to fast track the MSQ since NG+ doesn’t give experience. Your only choice is to dungeon spam, or if you REALLY hate yourself, FATEs. If you want to level an alt character, almost nothing that matters is account-wide, so you’re basically starting from scratch.

FFXIV players have griped over the housing system for time immemorial. Too many players, not enough housing, and the housing that is available is prohibitively expensive (even though Yoshi P. did say player housing would be significantly less expensive than FC housing, it isn’t).

The apartments do not offer all of the same features, and the Island Sanctuary is literally just chore simulator. Aside from the introduction of Empyrean and the band-aid housing lotto solution, housing has been almost completely untouched since 1.0.

And where is Ultima today? Why did everyone say new games would be WoW killers and not Ultima killers? Why does everyone say that new game features copied WoW, and not Ultima?

LFR is there and don’t worry about the rude people complaining in it. That’s why it’s there.

But dungeons tend to be a bit more personal and really you don’t want to feel like your wasting people’s time. That’s what I hate.

Like I want to try my hand at healing holy pally in normal and heroic but problem is I hate feeling like I’m wasting people’s time. I know most are understanding but in WoW, especially with this community, more often than any other MMORPG community the level of toxicity that comes with that is just oof.

so long as we don’t have to do the dungeon via the trust, I’m on board. If the result is one fewer “tanks pull too fast” thread, I’ll be happy.

Can we take it a step further and be able to dress the NPCs like we can for Squadrons in FFXIV? Or, maybe unlock extra skins like Trusts. That would be fun to me.

Well tbf across all the major MMO sites it is pretty universally agreed that FFXIV found a system that’s more likely to continue into other MMOs because having Ultima give nothing but title, cosmetic, and prestige has created a pretty friendly community.

Tying it to Player power kinda makes everything feel like a snow-fueled anger fest.
