I would post this on the Monk forums but honestly it’s pointless because those forums are pretty much dead and also there is seemingly no Monk class dev.
That being said, long story short as we all know we are going to be playing essentially a MoP season. Lots of highlights on the Cloak of Infinite Potential, Bronze currency, the mounts and gear… but nothing at all about monks.
I understand that this event is to satiate the Retail playerbase until TWW comes out and just because its a MoP season doesn’t necessarily entail that Monks need to be looked at, but right now, Monk is in the worst state it has ever been in. It’s been like this for awhile now, honestly.
WW is a parody of Enhancement Shaman. It’s essentially a pet summoning spec. Mind you, WW is supposed to be the most martial art-y of the specs, yet, both Brewmaster and Mistweavers embody that better somehow. The majority of WW players do not like this atrocious playstyle.
Brewmasters are known for being the hardest tanks to play yet their performance isn’t even on par with VDH, Prot paladins… and don’t bother playing Brewmaster in PvP. Perhaps its more indicative of how bad PvP is and how bad tanks are (except for bear druids) are in PvP but regardless, it’s not good.
It seems that Mistweavers are typically the most content of the specs, Mistweavers seem to really love their playstyle. “Fistweaving” is a unique playstyle and Blizzard is really wishy-washy with encouraging it or nerfing it. Nonetheless Mistweavers, compared to the other specs, are paid the most attention, but that isn’t saying much.
Lastly, Monk visuals are still the worst in the entire game.
It would be amazing that some of the attention towards this MoP remix could be directed at Monks since Monks are arguably the 2nd biggest part of MoP however it really seems like Blizzard hopes that Monk players will remain content with the pack of gum and toothpicks they have to play with while they consult a magic 8 ball in regards to class development and direction.
