I got 3d printer and all tutorials about exporting my toon call for WoW model viewer which is no longer supported. Is there any other way to get a 3D export of my character? I found one that exports generic 3D images of in-game stuff but like Dreanei with no hair.
I want to print my own beloved characters.
Any suggestions?
I’m not sure if you can export it the way you want but you might try poking at Wowhead’s Dressing Room.

I just downloaded WMV and it seems to work just fine? Including the option export models. Hell, i even found out that you can import characters directly from the armory. Which i tried with yours, and it worked perfectly.
Edit: Kinda messed up my WoW data or something though and now Battle.net needs to fix it. Not sure how that works. Does WMV pull data from the game files? If so, is it even legal?

Im not playing so it doesnt matter if it messes up my data. Which version did you ise? How up to date is you game? I believe legion is the last expansion i have.
You might want to go look for the latest version.
I’m pretty sure it still works just fine.

Tried latest version but maybe cuz im behind a couple of expansions it is a problem? It should still allow me to open and dress a character but i get a game folder error.
You’re only ever behind by one expansion anymore.
When a new expansion launches, they give you the previous one as part of your subscription.
There is a new version that I didn’t even have (10.0.8? I think it was?).
I just installed it but I haven’t tried running it yet. Maybe try installing and reinstalling with the newest Shadowlands version.

I downloaded the Shadowlands version as i am still actively playing the game.
If you haven’t gotten it to work yet i could export and send the model to you. Just give me your discord or whatever so i can give you a link.

Are any of you still able to get the model viewer working? Like the original poster, I downloaded it and can’t import any armory characters because the armory’s URLs are different than what the program expects. I’m pretty sure I have the latest Shadowlands version.
the load character is very buggy on WMV, currently it hasnt been working well at all. WMV has a active discord page with help.
I can’t even load WoW with it. I keep getting error 0 saying “World of Warcraft not found”

I had the same problem. I spent a week trying to figure this out and finally a small measure of success. The latest version of wowmodelviewer is missing some files (they are posted in the discord channel). Use the link to the user who posted getting wowmodelviewer to work. He moves pretty fast and you may have to rewind and replay a bit. That’s the good news. The bad news, I am still unable to pull my character from the WoW Armory to wowmodelviewer. I even appended “/simple” and “/advanced” but neither effort resulted in success.

I am having this exact same issue. As of last night when I tried to place the link of my character to be imported and it did not work. I was able to amend the “Error o” that was popping up before.
But importing my character from WoW armory results in a pop up that states the link is bad.
