Due to currently having no cable internet at my house only satellite I’m trying to run WoW off my phone’s hot spot (T-mobile Galaxy S9). Currently my plan gives my unlimited 3g hot spot and it works fine as long as I’m playing solo ping sets at roughly 100ish, a little more in cities. Group play however proves to much for the 3g, which I did expect. So I’m upgrading my plan to 20gb of the 4gLTE hot spot (only an extra 15$ so why not). So the actual question I want to ask is how much data should I expect to use playing WoW and any tips ya’ll may have to help reduce the data draw to maximize playable time on the 20gb. Mainly just be using discord (if possible) and playing WoW the updates can be done on the satellite.

I dont see why 3G would be an issue for group content. WoW’s data usage doesn’t climb much past about 20KB/sec - WAY below even the slowest implementation of 3G.
I used 3G for almost the entirety of TBC and part of LK when we lived out in the boonies… and it worked fine. Pings about what you describe.
Something else is likely going on.
Howver, WoW doesn’t use a lot of data. As long as you are only playing WoW on it, youll be fine. 20GB per month should be OK unless you’re on 24/7 (and even then…).

Basically what they are doing is sub-letting you a Business-Class LTE Hotspot through one of the four major carriers.
The business-class plans are actually unlimited.
Its a bit pricy but its solid. My in-laws finally signed up for it (my mother in law fought my father in law signing up for it for like six months) and they can watch Netflix, etc, just like they had a fixed broadband connection.
They are averaging ~400GB/month and haven’t had any issues.
I appreciate the quick response! When I did the new Darkshore world boss yesterday on this pally and my main both times the lag was HORRIBLE. As in I got the achieve for killing him the first time and the loot at least a full minute and half before he died on my screen if not more. I don’t know if maybe my addons may effect it? If it will help I can list all the addons I use.
Addons can affect it, as can there simply being a bajillion people in the area.
Thats lag caused by the server having issues, not you. If your latency didn’t climb, it wasn’t a you problem.
