WoW memory leak. Never happened before last patch; literally unplayable, official response requested

Like so many other people, I’m experiencing a memory leak that will crash WoW at the most inopportune times.

I’ve been playing since 2006. This is the first time I’ve ever seen it go over 8gb let alone 12.

The only thing on my end that changed since the last patch was fewer mods.

I cannot play this game in its present state.

(note: does not appear to be happening in the Beta)

Same exact thing is happening to me. Saw that I didnt install a windows update so I did that this morning and wanted to give it a shot. I run 0 addons and run nothing in the background so confused on how WoW is sucking that much memory usage out of my PC which is a gaming PC… I only play wow lol.
Ill let you know if the windows update fixed anything

Linux user here :raising_hand_woman:

I also experience the crashes, never had any issues until this past Tuesday’s patch. Can confirm it’s not just Windows users

You may have better luck with the Technical Support forum, as Bug Report is for in-game issues and not external matters such as memory leaks.

Odds are pretty good the memory spike problem is a bug in the client (or, more exotically, the server) which is properly meat for the Bug Report forum.

This is not “your computer is misconfigured, your drivers are out of date, your network provider is dropping packets.”

I had nothing to do with it. Therefore Technical Support will tell me it’s a bug. Therefore, yes, this is the correct venue.

FWIW, there’s a claim from an EU blue poster that something got fixed (server-side?).
