The World of Warcraft Lore ship sailed away a long time ago. The writers don’t care. The players don’t care. So why are there still some individuals that don’t want any change to game-play because it would ruin the Lore?

I would also like to mention that the world has 8 Billion human beings at present. Each of those people have their own opinions about everything. So a post in a forum will be either liked, disliked, or just ignored.
Just look at the two reactions so far: One person thinks the post is divisive question. The other Just posted: Wut?
and the third posted they thinks I’m just complaining.
Lets see what else people think.

Hear me out for a second. Players talking about game-play changes that effect the lore care about the lore and want to see it expanded upon instead of thrown out the window in the name of whatever is popular.
New race/class combos for example, while I dislike the idea of some, if there’s a story behind the change that is represented in the game world, then sobeit. Just giving Mechagnomes Druids for the lols just signals something we all say, that Blizzard doesn’t care about their own products.

Lol ask basically any fantasy fan, that’s happened to many long-running series.
WoW is far from alone here.
World of Warcraft, lore has been butchered to some extent.
Star Wars, lore has been butchered to some extent.
Modern Lord of the Rings, Warhammer, Dungeons & Dragons, Dragon Age, Diablo 4 and 3, Final Fantasy, Halo & Destiny 2, all have problems in their stories/lore that leave fans divided.
I haven’t heard much about the next Elder Scrolls (other than it’s delayed) but based on how poorly Starfield went (and how bad the story is there) I wouldn’t be surprised if I also had to include Elder Scrolls in that list as well.

How can a product be delayed when they’ve been stating for years it’d be out after Starfield? As for the lore, I’m pretty sure ESO has done some damage to TES lore. The newest expansion is adding an 18th Daedric Prince that was erased from all memory and will likely be erased from all memory again since it takes place in the Second Age, and Skyrim brought us to the Fourth Age.

Just out of curiosity…
If there was an honest effort by Blizz to create better lore, and acceptable results, would players start to care about it again?
Or is it just too far gone to be worth the effort to salvage it?
I guess it’s moreso to do with the games and series’ and less the books.
More “Rings of Power” and that Gollum game lol, albeit there were some other very good games as well. Like the one where you command orc armies.
It’s really a mixed bag, Star Wars is in a similar state. The shows are like 6-7/10 material at best. Some of the recent games are good, some are just meh.

Mechagnomes at this point have had an expansion in the shadowlands where they could have learned druid magic from Ardenweald, and all the content in DF dealing with the dream, also another opportunity to learn druid magic. We also did quite a bit with the primalist so that opens up the opportunity for mecha shamans (if the goblins can do it, so can gnomes dangit).
That’s what I’m talking about. That Rings of Power show makes basically zero sense considering the books are right there lol.
