I just bought a new desktop and every time my characters load into the game, the game would just disconnect from the server. Doesn’t matter what network I’m in (home wifi or phone hotspot), and unfortunately I can’t try ethernet as I’m too far from the router. Tried restarting the computer, driver is up to date, and tried flushing dns and renewing ipconfig on cmd.
I just found out it runs fine in the background, but the ping spikes and then disconnects when I switch the window back into the game!!! I can see everyone moving when I hover on the task bar to see the preview of them game. But when I bring the game back to to foreground, everyone starts running in place again then disconnects.
I also found out if I set the graphics to low setting, it won’t disconnect the game (ping still remains higher than usual). But once I increase the graphics to high setting, the ping immediately spikes and disconnects! I wonder are my gpu and cpu drawing too much power from the PSU and knocked the wifi adapter offline? (is that even possible? 750W should be enough for my set up) i7-14700KF + RTX4070 + 750W PSU
Ping and Tracert looked okay as well.
